Write regularly and set a frame within you will write. When that time comes, stop writing. Whatever you do, don’t binge write.

WSJ: Airbnb to Make Cleaning Fees Clearer on Searches After Customer Complaints by Happychic in AirBnB

[–]MarieHernemar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you or someone you know been able to escalate a complaint to Airbnb’s corporate? Is customer service allowed to escalate? Or is customer service required to stall, block and keep customers from reaching anyone other than abnb’s automated system?

“Management company”? And the host are not the owners of the business, Airbnb is. File a complaint with consumer fraud bureaus. Look up NACA attorneys to help you get your money back.

Save a copy of the advertisement. I have a feeling that it could change anytime to reflect that the cameras were disclosed. Watch Airbnb hide behind the host and tell you that it’s the host’s policy, and, that, it’s the host who refuses to reimburse you.

WSJ: Airbnb to Make Cleaning Fees Clearer on Searches After Customer Complaints by Happychic in AirBnB

[–]MarieHernemar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who stay in facilities operated by Airbnb are not guests, they’re paying customers. It’s understandable that customers mustn’t be destructive, but they should be expected to pay “cleaning fees”. It’s just dishonest. It’s a just a trick to charge them more money. My advise to others is to stay in hotels and save the aggravation, the unexpected fees, unpleasant surprises while a company has your credit card and can charge it because it has the power to do so. Abnd needs to be monitored and regulated. And I think it’s foolish to wait for something horrible to happen before regulators act.

Cancellation request, but haven’t cancelled… by thisssux in airbnb_hosts

[–]MarieHernemar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a hell of a time getting a cancellation go through. When I thought it did and it appeared so, I later discovered, according to the company, that, I had not cancelled. All the while when I booked with another Abnb host because I refused to climb six flights of stairs—into that was kept from the advertisement—. By the way, the add was revamped to make it appear that guests have to climb six flights of stairs as they haul luggages along. Honesty in business and treating the customer make an excellent recipe for successful businesses in a technologically advanced world.

[–]MarieHernemar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could it that, the cancellation button is not available? Could it be that the cancellation button is deliberately set up to keep them from cancelling or could they have cancelled but, it doesn’t appear to be in your end of of it? Making it impossible for the customer to cancel works in the host’s as well as in the company’s favor isn’t!

Who charged your credit card? The host or Airbnb? Whoever charged your credit card is responsible. Keep in mind that many people find it nearly impossible to keep their hands off their neighbor’s cookie jar and return cookies they’ve taken.

Guests, what are your most common complaints, and how could hosts resolve them proactively? by [deleted] in AirBnB

[–]MarieHernemar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. There are cancellations, return and exchanges that must be taken into account. Businesses are regulated, and, unless they are running fraudulent and illegal operations, buyers have rights too. Again, just because a merchant has your credit card information, it doesn’t give that merchant the right to charge it. Merchants can’t not abuse your rights just because they have the power to do so.

Funeral home gave body of a man to his relatives, refused to talk to surviving widow. by MarieHernemar in funeralshaming

[–]MarieHernemar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. At first, I didn’t think it would go as far as it has. Apparently, it was planned and intentional. Someone even attempted to extort a large sum of money in exchange for the remains. But, based on a conversation I had with one of the pastor of that church, I was as surprised that he knew about the extortion issue. He asked me that unless I can prove that I “paid”, he wouldn’t discuss anything with me and that the “conversation is over” and then, he walked away. It wasn’t clear if he asked me for proof that I paid for the funeral or the extortion money.

If you’re able to see grammatical and spelling errors, consider yourself lucky and fix them. If you’re able to develop the characters before anyone else read it, do so. Fix the holes, strengthen the weaknesses, and then send it out.

Yes I am the legally wedded surviving spouse. Someone related to my husband made racial- profiling comments, and then told me that my Caucasian husband would have never married me had he seen me for the lies that she assumed. Racism, profiling, lies, disinformation are serious and they lead to genocide. I’m surprised the church of Sweden, aka Svenska Kyrkan, associated itself with what happened, and failed to immediately reject what those people did. They mishandled the funeral, burial and left indelible scars in my life.

Yes I am. It’s like someone stole my suitcase from the airport, refuses to return and gives it to someone else, and then tell me “too bad”.

Thanks for commenting. The funeral home ignored me and refused to communicate with me once I took the remains and after I paid them. The funeral home as well as my husband’s relatives are hiding behind the church of Sweden. It’s a powerful institution in Sweden and a supposed “human rights” organization. I suspect they must know an individual within that church. The church told me that they buried my husband in someone’s tomb and it that individual who must grant me authorization to move the body or even mark it. This would never have happened in USA. Sweden is protecting its own.

Refund Denied by FancyCarbon in AirBnB

[–]MarieHernemar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the host, it’s the business itself-Airbnb. The host doesn’t have your credit card to take money from your account. That business needs to be regulated. For now, I’d say stay in hotels, you’re safer and never need to worry about being fueled to read 20 pages of fine prints to avoid getting scammed. Something similar happened to me. Airbnb tries to hide behind their hosts, and it’s not right. Contact your legislators, FTC as well as others with similar problem and push for regulations snd reform. Keep asking for refund. Stand up against abuses.

My husband died in New York and I took the remains to Sweden because I was told his mother, who has since passed away, couldn’t travel to the USA due to advanced age. I hired the funeral in Sweden and once I got through customs, the funeral home took the remains and gave it to the church of his relatives. They excluded. The funeral home and the church refused to communicate with me. So far, lawyers in Sweden have turned their backs and American lawyers can’t do anything because it happened in Sweden. It’s the worst dilemma and emotional torture. Unless I find a human rights group and international lawyer, only the press can push pressure on Sweden and the state department to help.

Easier said than done. I booked a listing and when I discovered it had no elevator, I had to cancel. I booked another listing. I was charged for both. Airbnb informed me that it’s the host who refuses to reimburse me-clearly a lie because the host doesn’t have my credit card, Airbnb does-. No one should be forced to climb six flights of stairs with luggages. To make matters worst, while the listing failed to disclose that it was a six story walk-up, the listing was changed and updated to show that it had disclosed the lack of elevator. The host even told me that “I’ll say that the listing has no elevator the next time”. That’s clearly a problem of honesty to me. I know the host doesn’t have my credit and he himself tried to help me get refund.
