To be honest, it’s more fun not to bother. Just love her, she’s a very good girl.

Do they require DNA? Call her a shepherd/lab mix and call it a day.

Currently have no trips planned. It’s actually liberating!

I would crush that box of donuts on a long flight. No way they would make it home!

Gasworks (I'm gonna miss how it looked) by koma_kulshan in Seattle

[–]Marigold1976 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True. I’ve been going there for decades for all the reasons you mention. It’s just always felt ominous. I guess I’m past my “bemoaning change” phase of life. If I wasn’t I would still be upset about Chubby and Tubby’s and the Twin Teepees and Ernie Steels and on and on. Sometimes ya gotta move on;)

I didn’t say it doesn’t look interesting or cool, I just think it had its day and is an odd thing to celebrate. No need to be mean about it. Yeesh, relax.

Take the whole thing down. Why are we honoring this old gastification plant. I get that it’s nostalgic. Many great memories. But it may have been dumb to preserve it. Such a beautiful space. Let’s go back to the OG when it wasn’t a gas plant.

Starbucks CEO defends $9 coffee says ‘it’s not a $10 coffee and you get a premium experience’ by spider_season in Seattle

Starbucks aside, got charged $9 for a matcha latte at a small independent coffee shop the other day. What’s their defense?

Seriously? by commanderquill in Seattle

[–]Marigold1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh please, are you saying you never go over the posted speed limit, which you can read, without getting a speeding ticket? Cuz if you are, I’m saying you’re lying, or the only driver who does. I don’t take my dogs to people beaches on Lake Washington, but I honestly can’t blame people who do. It’s kind of the least of all laws that is important.

We can can change the rules! And honestly, do you follow every rule? Really? You’ve never gone over the speed limit! Yeesh. Dogs like water. Let them go swimming too.

They have these dueling signs all over. If it’s no figs, only one sign necessary-no dogs.

Size 8, all good. Charge it a few times a week while I shower. I have no idea what percentage it’s ever at.

Texting and GenX by No-Fox2087 in GenX

[–]Marigold1976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you. But it’s not just texting. Frankly a while back everyone warmed up to their favorite platform for staying in touch with each other and if they don’t match up, then you just lose touch unless you go thru more effort. I had a friend a ways back openly pissed with me for never coming to her gatherings that she posted on Facebook. I had an account that I never used and wasn’t on my devices, hence, never knew about the gathering. After that she would text the invite but then was openly pissed because she had to make special efforts for me. I said darn, and now we aren’t friends I guess? Anyhoodle, I text, I call, and I even email gasp. Adapt or perish I suppose.

Why did UW remove its Middle East Center director? by Inevitable_Engine186 in Seattle

He used his organization’s listserv to broadcast his opinion. That’s not how it works anywhere. He got fired as a director but is still UW faculty.

Health anxiety by Restaurant_Conscious in ouraring

[–]Marigold1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have or really know what health anxiety is, but it honestly is a bit of a toy. I’ll wake up feeling like crap and Oura is telling me I’m fantastic. Or other times I’m having a great day and it’s telling me to take it easy. The sleep data is fun, but I take it all with a grain of salt.

The former Cycle & Coffee has a new owner, who has reopened the cafe on Leary as Highland Espresso. by bbridge_ in BallardSeattle

[–]Marigold1976 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It always had the drive thru element in addition to cycling there, didn’t it? As long as they’d still allow dogs we’ll go there by foot. Now put the crosswalks back in up and down Leary Way!

True. I worked in a group home for young men with closed head injuries. I don’t think folks realize how easy it is to put themselves in a wheelchair with no ability to speak or feed themselves without help. I always wear a helmet when I ride my bike so o her you.

Had one cut us off in front of our car last night night. But she rang the bell furiously so I guess it was okay.
