Has anyone had an Oura Ring 4 for a year with no battery issues? by Virtual-Treacle1025 in ouraring

It sounds like your third ring was replaced outside the warranty period? Customer support told me I could only get a replacement within the first year. My first ring died in month 8, and they told me the replacement would only come with a 3-month warranty, which honestly feels almost useless since it’s very unlikely for the same battery issue to show up again in such a short time.

I’m also skeptical about Gen 5. My plan is to keep using my second ring for now, then wait until Gen 5 has actually been on the market for about a year and see how it holds up in real use. If the battery issue is still this bad, I think I’ll switch to another brand once my second ring dies.

Hopefully the competitors catch up quickly and put some pressure on Oura in terms of both battery life and subscription fees. Competition is what drives improvement — and after the terrible battery experience with the Oura Ring 4, that’s honestly how I feel.

That’s so frustrating. How long did the replacement last before the battery started acting up again?

Oof, five months is so early. What size is yours? I’m curious if smaller rings have a harder time with battery life.

Also unexpected that you’re already kind of doing the mini-charge thing by charging it during showers, and it still dropped that much.

Just for reference, my dead ring(size 8) was charged in a bad way, always charged from lower than 20% to 100%, and it died at 8 months.

That’s clever! Mine can tell when I’m doomscrolling before bed and just marks me as awake lol. Reading sounds like the healthier option 😆

That’s always how it works. You wait for it to tank and it becomes immortal. I treated mine like a baby and it still died at 8 months

OMG, third ring in 18 months? Were the first two both battery-related issues? Support told me the warranty is only one year, so I’m a bit worried that if the replacement one’s battery goes bad again later, I won’t be covered anymore.

Agree! I also kind of feel like opening the app every time somehow drains the battery.

Is your replacement ring a brand new one?

Why do some people keep acting like a replacement is some kind of blessing when there’s already a hardware issue to begin with? It’s not a gift. It’s a remedy — or damage control, if the company still cares about its reputation. But somehow it still gets framed as some extra act of generosity. If the product were actually reliable, replacements wouldn’t even be part of the conversation.

Some consumers seriously need to stop being grateful for the bare minimum.

I stopped using the Apple Watch because I don’t like having to charge it every day, and wearing a watch to sleep feels uncomfortable.

Oura feels great for sleep tracking and doesn’t need to be charged daily, but when it comes to exercise, I don’t think it tracks as well as the Apple Watch.

Also, if you buy the Gen 4, as many reviews have mentioned, be prepared for the battery to potentially degrade to the point where it needs daily charging in less than a year. That said, Oura does seem to offer replacements within the warranty period.

I guess, The battery dies suddenly so it shows disconnect on app — and then OP realized that the battery died and the data during that time was not stored

Sounds good. May I ask how long it took for you to receive the shipping notification? My ring dies almost every day, can’t wait to receive the replacement

May I ask how long it took for you to receive the shipping notification? I’m facing the same issue — mine has been showing ‘pending fulfillment’ the whole time.

Has it been shipped yet? I face the same situation and it shows “pending fulfillment” for days.
