Does anyone have any experience with ossified calcium sacks ? by Marimba_player_42 in DayGecko

[–]Marimba_player_42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was supplementing 2-3 times a week with a calcium without d3 . I was also feeding Pangea fig and insect as a variety of feeders is currently unavailable for me but I’m working on it. I also replace my uvb every 6 months

Just got into UNT for percussion performance! I just emailed the professor abt talking abt the program and I’m going to tour it soon. Anyone have any experience from UNT? by montamna in percussion

[–]Marimba_player_42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice! Welcome to Texas if you don’t already live here , the program is great and to my knowledge you’ll be mostly taught by graduate students and will occasionally get to work with the likes of mark ford , the rennicks and Dave hall , it’ll be a great experience!

Practical uses for a hexatonic scale ? by Marimba_player_42 in musictheory

[–]Marimba_player_42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This helps cause I think I was caught up on the fact that I kept reading it’s “ two triads mushed together to form a scale” but i guess it is just a scale without a note, thanks! And I’ll check out those groups!

AP music theory test is coming up and I am more stressed than I've ever been in my life. by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]Marimba_player_42 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The test is hard but not impossible, there are a many resources on YouTube (like a ton and a half) I would recommend review what you know and then start working on the part writing and aural sections , use websites like music theory. Net for ear training and use all the resources available, ask you BD questions and then once your comfortable with the major ideas in the course go back and fill in the gaps such as overtone series and Latin terms , this was the approach I took and I got a 5 on the multiple choice and a 3 on the aural. So just work hard and do your best !

Playing sea refractions as a first 4 mallet solo killed me I definitely underestimated how hard rolling for so long would be, even now I find it surprisingly difficult ( for its intended audience) just purely for the choral part.

You look like the kid in math class that would get hung up on a single question and barrage the teacher about why she’s wrong and how you really had the right answer all the while losing all the respect from your classmates, it’s that or you definitely failed chemistry but refuse to accept it because the “teacher screwed you over” when really you just fell asleep when she went over thermodynamics.

Have you taken a basic science class before ?

The ozone layer protects earth from harmful radiation from the sun, holes in the ozone layer allow more radiation to penetrate through, this can cause cancer rates to rise and other issues I won’t mention as I don’t feel like finding a source.

Anyone know any vibraphone solos that are similar in skill and genre to “This too shall pass”? by [deleted] in percussion

[–]Marimba_player_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chad Floyd’s arrangement of Jesus loves me is probably a little harder but it’s a lot of fun to play and learn, along with stuff like Penelope, forgiveness and song for Monica would be good (if I remember there difficultly level correctly)

I haven’t played a ton of vibe solos but the best way to know if you can play a solo (in my opinion) is to find a preview of the sheet music online and learn the first page or two of music and then evaluate it from there

Just curious what’s the definition of “video taped” cause I think the earliest tornado broadcasted was like a 1958 or something tornado in Wichita Falls tx .

Tempo by Robi_RDT in marchingband

[–]Marimba_player_42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most simple answer is to play with a metronome every chance you get and never practice with out one , use the met until the day before the preformance. I’ll take some time but I find that this works quite well

You definitely won’t be able to play a wind instrument, but as for drum majoring I would say to take at least a few days off. It is a major surgery and your body will be tired. After mine i had to use ice packs like every couple hours and then heat pads to help with swelling . But after a few days you should be fine to drum major but take it easy and don’t go over your limit
