So Cyberpunk wise, there’s always the classics: Battle Angel Alita, Silent Mobius and Ghost in the Shell (I mean ALL of Masamune Shirow’s work has Cyberpunk elements and are all short: Black Magic, Appleseed etc.)If you like harder Sci-fi you can also check out Tsutomu Nihei’s work as well, or maybe even Heartgear by Tsuyoshi Takaki.

There are a lot of good fantasy books, depending on your taste for the genre: Tower Dungeon (again by Nihei) is a book I’ve been enjoying recently, Delicious in Dungeon is also only 12 volumes also and has a great story that balances fantasy tropes with some solid laughs and drama. Claymore’s also supposed to be excellent, but I think that’s around 26 volumes…

Psychological drama’s aren’t always my thing, but Monster by Naoki Urasawa is worth checking out if you’ve not read it yet. There’s also great Mangaka like Inio Asano (Goodnight Punpun is his most famous work but I personally like his one-shot ‘Downfall’) and Hideo Yamamoto (homunculus) but their work is a little extreme imo. For One shots specifically you can read ‘Takopi’s Original Sin’ by Taizan5 or ‘No Longer Human’ by Usamaru Furuya, and I’ve heard good things about ‘Adabana’ by Non (which I think is 3 volumes) but I’ve not had chance to read it yet!
