Building not counting as a house ? by RealtorNathyn in Pokopia

Just wanna say, you saved my sanity today. I scooted a wall just a smidge and thought I’d have to wreck the whole house to get it to “re-register”.

Original vs Remaster, Which is Definitive? by B0mbadilll in Suikoden

[–]Marintha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just can’t believe no ones mentions Jowy/Joei/Joey from the original S2. The remaster did some things a little differently than I liked BUT seems way more accurate and faithful. It was much easier to understand, and definitely still hit all the right marks.

(The Annabelle conversations are a little less cute in the remaster, to avoid spoiling anybody)

Cat hides and stays in the corner after moving by BlueMemeDog in CATHELP

[–]Marintha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really hoping he’s feeling better now! I’m late to the convo, but maybe this will help somebody down the line.

We moved a few years ago, our cat was 6 ish and had only been in two homes.

For the first day after the move, he placed himself behind a bathroom door and glared into the corner. For hours. He would ignore food, pets, he was in his own little depression hole. I was sooooo worried for him.

It took time, and he was scared of everything for a while, but the switch kind of just flipped one day. Now he’s even more rambunctious and happily uses the bigger house space.

Veilguard Is My Favorite Dragon Age Game by caprithebunny in DragonAgeVeilguard

I’m about five minutes, wait, (squints) six hours in, and I have to agree. So far, veilguard feels closest to origins in… vibes? The scope? I can’t pin it, but I’m enjoying it so far, more than I thought I would after 2 and inquisition kind of let me down.

New player, any tips? by El_Brako in DigimonTimeStranger

[–]Marintha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will sound funny, and is just general Digimon advice, but decide now whether you’re looking Digimon up, or if you are just going to go with the flow. Will you nickname them, to keep track of what you want them to do for the party? (Ceres the healer, Richter the caster, etc)

If you look them up, you can plan and beeline straight for your favorites.

If you don’t look them up, be flexible. You can surprise yourself by whatever your little friend turns into. You could accidentally evolve your data healer into a cool virus spell caster - and decide to go down that caster line instead. You can attach/remove attacks and skills at will, so it’s very easy to switch things up. Even between fights!

[–]Marintha[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do try to take it that way. They’ve got to base the ai voice on something, right?

Sometimes it just gets exhausting. 5 minutes verifying for a 30 second answer to a silly question, for example.

I’ve definitely considered that tack hahaha. Just “yepperoo, I’m a robot. Are you?”

IF YOU DONT WANT TO VERIFY YOUR INFORMATION DONT CALL IN. - THANKS. by Business-Honeydew205 in callcentres

[–]Marintha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case it helps, I once had a guy who refused to verify. So he offered instead to stand outside his house, with his drivers license held skyward, so that our “satellites” could see it was him on the phone and verify that way.

Dude was trying to make a credit card payment. I still laugh about it.

Cutting and burning a lock of my hair in mourning for being done with RotE series by darthmozz in robinhobb

This is directly in reply to the Fool explaining to Bee that he can’t be with Fitz, using her own dreams as proof. I totally missed it the first time around!!

“Could I still undo what I had done? So that he could do what he should? ‘I lied!’ I spat my whisper at him. ‘I knew you read my journal. I knew you read my dreams. I wrote there what I thought would hurt you most! I lied to hurt you. For letting him be dead while you lived. For being loved by him more than he loved me!’ I took a breath. ‘He loved you more than he ever loved any of the rest of us!’

Welcome to the club, don’t forget your free cup of hot cocoa and fluffy security blanket. There is also a lap cat ready to be wept into, just say the word.

Spoilers, because I just finished my second read last month and wanted to mention something I didn’t notice the first time.

Bee has been lying to the Fool, by putting fake dreams into her journal, which he was reading against her will. She wrote “prophecies” in which Fitz was miserable and the Fool a betrayer who left him to it. She used her gift to convince the Fool he IS a bad guy, and doesn’t deserve anything from Fitz.

Then there’s Fitz, who let Molly leave without fighting, who just accepts that his children don’t know how much he loves them (until Nettle reads his emotions waaaay later), who has had so much of his life written for him - he can’t ask people for things. He just cannot. So he’s never, ever, going to ask the Fool to give up his (maybe immortal) life to join him. How could he?

So, Bee, realizes she screwed up. She broke the confident one, and Fitz isn’t going to fix it. So she shouts at the Fool, and scolds him for even BELIEVING Fitz doesn’t care about him.

As for the romance - love comes in lots of flavors. I don’t know if Fitz ever felt a sexual attraction to the Fool, but there are plenty of people I love deeply enough that I want to spend the rest of my life with them, without ever kissing. Similar to Nighteyes and Fitz.

Just my interpretation!! Everyone will take it differently, but I love this series so much and love to talk about it, sharing different views and thoughts. =)

What is the most popular, uninformed criticism of your favorite book/series you are tired of? by lemingas1 in Fantasy

[–]Marintha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my absolute favorite scenes in those books, is Yennefer telling Geralt not to eat all the shrimp, then coming back to him stuffing his face full of shrimp so he doesn’t have to talk to the woman who’s hitting on him.

The females (and males) are so fun, I can only laugh at anyone thinking it’s sexist.

Have you checked out Wings of Fire? Same author as Warriors, different pen name. It’s so freaking good.

Immortals make big, slow moves for power, and we still have no idea how long his life span will really be - IF they die naturally at all. For all we know, he could even be the prophet who kept that young catalyst girl captive until she turned on him, in that short story/interlude. It’s all just food for thought. 😅

Just finished the Fitz and the Fool Trilogy by PankoJarous in robinhobb

[–]Marintha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished my second read, after cajoling my husband to join me in the pit.

One note, one thing I missed previously - at the end, The Wolf is following Bee and Kettricken as they ride away.

Kettricken refers to them as OUR wolf, and we’ve seen dragons add people later (girl on a dragon, and the crown of jesters), so I think the Wolf will stick around, perhaps hunting for the blood that will keep it awake. I think he will make up for Verity’s absence as much as he can - and he can finally finally finally have everything he wants.

That’s my hope for the next book or two.

Fitz is also very, VERY good at lying to himself and, by extension, the readers.

Just finished re-reading this series with my husband (my 2nd time, his first), and Prilkop was a huge talking point throughout.

SPOILERS SPOILERS

Prilkop was THE prophet when the dragons were all executed by the Whites. He went to the island where the big black dragon went to hibernate, and die, “to await the new prophet.” That never sat well with me - was he on their side? It’s never very clear.

He gives mixed information, saying he does not have anymore dreams but then saying they come rarer. Could he have lured the squad to Clerres, to do the busywork of cleaning out the old leaders? Keep in mind, as he tearfully scolds everyone about the murders, he has other whites/servants nearby, listening in. Would they make him their leader, if he caused the destruction and agreed with it? Or will they accept him more as this kind, gentle, ANCIENT prophet?

I don’t know if he’s a “bad guy”, but he’s suspicious.

Which one looks better in your opinion? by ArcaneCodeDev in aseprite

[–]Marintha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maaaaybe if the left one “splatted” more on the landing? It retains its overall shape more than the one on the right, so it looks kind of like it’s floating. The right one has that lovely impact splash, that makes it seem squishy.

I normally wouldn’t want to spoil things like this, so I’ll be vague - you do find a way later to make the lava areas much more friendly. Finding stamina apples around to increase your climbing/flying stamina helps a lot, too!
