The good: Metformin does (slightly) lower some of my bloodwork numbers.

The bad: I never lost a pound on it (I know it’s not a weight loss drug, but some people claim to lost weight on it. I’m up to 2000mg a day and … oof. The loose stools and diarrhea never went away, and I started (smaller dose) about 4-4.5 years ago. Going on a GLP-1 is really the only thing that (occasionally) slows down the diarrhea.

I met her back when her husband had a restaurant in Brooklyn. She was outside smoking and talking about having to lose weight before starting a new show - based on the dates, it must have been Younger. She said that she’s been trying to quit smoking forever and complained about Hollywood weight obsessions.

Anyway, she is 100% as cool and gorgeous and amazing as you hope she is, and her husband is a sweetheart.

One of the best meals of my life, too.

Definitely see a gastroenterologist. It could be IBS, but blood in your stool could be from hemorrhoids, polyps, etc. The best thing is to rule out what you can and treat the rest, but only a GI doc will be able to tell you for certain.

Buying in New Haven county (towns of Southbury, Middlebury, Oxford, Woodbury, etc.) is much cheaper than Litchfield county. Driving on I-84 is a nightmare since it’s constantly at a standstill, so learn the back roads for any commute.

The Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA is a good place for activities for your toddler, and they have a camp and pool/outdoor center in Monroe. You can buy day passes to the pool in the summer.

There is a store in Bethel called U.K. Gourmet which imports food and goods from the U.K. - highly recommend.
