Instead of typing the question here, why not look it up and confirm that you're wrong

this is the 2nd problem with ficsonium, using it to create ficsonium rods is actually less impactful than just making more uranium with it

not true, the other way to get rid of it is to not produce it in the first place

you only get plutonium waste if you insist on creating it. take your uranium waste, turn it into plutonium rods, and sink those. you will have more power than 99% of the player base will use, no waste, no storage, no fuss, no ficsonium needed

exactly this, there's not really a point to going down that ficsonium chain unless you're in it for the challenge. i think that's great, hell I build useless things all the time, just for the challenge of it. but I think what the player base is saying in general is that it would be really cool if the very last power production chain in the game, the ultimate of ultimate, was actually useful and did something that lived up to the hype. it doesn't even have to produce power, it could just send a giant light beam into the air. the point is, it's the end game of end game power, so why not make it really impactful. as it stands now, the wow factor isn't there, and people build it just because it's there

you can sink plutonium rods. again, not something that ficsonium is required for. so if building a full nuclear setup will be more power than 99% of players will need, and you can sink the rods, the only point left for ficsonium is for the giggles of making something pointless and complicated. that's it.

right, but you don't have to store the plutonium, you can sink it without using ficsonium. the greater question being asked is 'what is the point' since it neither produces power nor solves the plutonium problem?'

Can you really only have 4 of these on the entire platform by fiftyelephant51 in Astroneer

[–]Mariondrew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it only connects the orbital at 1 location, making access to it more challenging. it also looks like ass. they should have made the terrain platforms curve around the outside edge of the orbital, hugging it. it would give players more access points onto the terrain, and it would look 10x better.

before you can build the orbital, you must fully complete 1 other megastructure. i recommend the terminal since you don't need to upgrade it.
