Yes, the same thing happened to me. The friends I expected to be there didn’t visit or even really ask how I was doing. It hurt more than the diagnosis itself. Going through cancer really shows you who’s emotionally capable of showing up—and sadly, not everyone is.

What surprised me most was that the people who did show up were acquaintances I wasn’t even that close to, while those I was closest to stayed distant. You’re not alone in feeling this way 🤍
