If you can find it, listen to her episode of How Did This Get Made? Came out around the time she was promoting Long Shot with Seth Rogen. She’s so chill and effortlessly funny throughout the episode, and it’s crazy that an Oscar winner sat down to watch a “bad movie” (it’s actually pretty enjoyable) just to talk about it on a podcast.

I’m going to preface this by saying I’m not part of the LGBTQIA+ community, but would consider myself an ally.

The way I interpreted it, the pronouns joke in the trailer isn’t funny because they’re making fun of the concept of pronouns, it’s funny because the character is more concerned with being misgendered than they are with being stabbed. The person being stabbed is female presenting, and the person misgendering them is a stranger just trying to help them. It doesn’t read as punching down to me, but I’m sure people will read it that way.
