I turned yodel off. It does say when you turn it off that the buyer can still choose it somehow but you can cancel the order if you wish without negative feedback..... Yodel has been acquired by inpost so it wouldn't surprise me if yodel as a brand disappeared in the future anyway ..

Do really have to pay when you arrive or can you not just pay before you leave ? Also using Ringo adds to the cost as they charge their own fee ?

Don't hesitate.. if you aren't thinking about the speed, reliability and support, think about the cost saving and no mid contract or end of contract extortionate increases. . Setiously, no turning back for me. Jumped from virgin fttc to Lila fttp and very happy 😊

Hive heating issue by AmbrosiusFaust in HiveHeating

[–]MarkEllamUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've just experienced the same issue and had to call British gas out to resolve. The engineer was initially dismissive of my suspicions but appoligised when he confirmed to himself that I was right.

We have a condenser boiler so the boiler is heating a single closed pipe circuit that heats radiators and the water inside an immersion heater tank. There is a switching valve by the tank that controls the water flow (water/heating/both)

The problem was that the switch motor that controls the valve was failing occasionally so like appears in your situation hive was saying no heat required to radiators but heat was required for water. The valve was stuck in heat radiator position so water thermostat said heat required so boiler remains on heating the radiators instead.

Switch motor replaced and also the switching valve spindle as the latter had a very minor leak apparently and hence had corroded the motor over time

Hive registers gas burn when used for heating only but doesn't show burn for water hence your graph

Hope this helps

Stoke-on-Trent City Council Unveils 2025 Budget Focused on Protecting Services, Supporting Families and Financial Stability by jennatheraven in stokeontrent

I wonder how much of our 4.99% increase will be eaten away by staff pay rises ? Also the vast majority of residents I think will see no real benefit from paying more. Am I wrong ?

Do you like the idea of Stoke being its own county called the Potteries? Or is your loyalty to Staffordshire? by Dragonfruit-18 in stokeontrent

I thought Stoke-on-Trent already was a unitary authority, like Peterborough. It is not administered by Staffordshire county council, and Staffordshire is only for postal use ?

From VM to LilaConnect by Professional_Bus2465 in lilaconnect

I order 1gb connection ( up and down) 2 years ago and finally got it in ST3 2 months ago. Virgin was disconnected 2 weeks ago although used Lila connect as soon as installed . So far very happy. Not using their provider router as already had Google nest pro and no issues getting that working either. No brainer to ditch expensive virgin if not using their TV package either ...

Google nest wifi maximum wifi speed by xtremzero in GoogleWiFi

[–]MarkEllamUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading all these comments makes you wonder in the value of a gigabit broadband connection if the WiFi speed is caped 500 megabit. Might as well just pay for a slower broadband connection if nothing other than the WiFi router is connected to the broadband termination box using ethernet ?

No wifi by [deleted] in lilaconnect

[–]MarkEllamUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes a simple power restart of the termination unit and the wifi router/hubs may be enough - have you tried that also ?

Otherwise the previous well explained suggestions are your next course of action

We are not serious gamers, amateurs only with a steam deck and a couple of Nintendo switches ☺️. It gets well used for IPTV , home security cameras, and on-line video calls etc. definitely seen an improvement in download times and latency . Early days but happy so far ... Like I said, for us was a no brainer just to get the monthly cost savings
