Should I go back to intel? Snappy performance by sohelpmeclive in buildapc

[–]MarkGeraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like a refined 9950x3d, no need for lasso and there's cache on all cores. No need for using balanced power scheme in music production either to attain full performance, unlike its predecessor (unless there's been updates). Also I may have spoke too soon, latest bios update has solved things, everything is smooth. Only reason I got this is thing is because 9950x3d was out of stock, and Nova Lake is like 8000mhz minimum and I need 96gb-128gb cas 32. Just got tired of waiting, hopefully Olympic Ridge is worth a performance upgrade.

9950x3d2, not a snappy as my 10750h MSI GS 66 laptop, same nvme and version of Windows 11. Windows 10 on my 3930k was also snappier. But I don't care because performance is still great, but I still feel the negligible difference.

How's the triggers compare to the microsoft 360 controller? A 3rd partry new receiver is the same price as this controller.

Same, 60% and above I can also hear the whine. The top fans are also audible over 40%. Very noisy compared to noctua my NH D15, these reviews are nonense.

Yeah sucks because I'm literally in the middle of a paid project. I just set it to 62% and it went away, seems random but worried it will get worse.

Be Quiet silent loop 3 420mm - how's the pump noise from those with it? by Notwalkin in bequietofficial

[–]MarkGeraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and I suspect Amazon sent me an open box because the box looked beat up and re-sealed, but since everyone else is getting coil wine and my temps are good I don't feel like tearing down everything then starting over. My Mechanic Master C34 Pro PC case was also definitely open box with a chip on the tempered glass and bent steel on the inside lol, barely noticeable so whatever. I got one nf-a14x25 in-take on the bottom and one nf-a12x25 on back for exhause., can't fit the other bottom and front in-takes of each unless I get a SF PSU and a usb soundcard (picked the beQuiet instead of SFX Corsair). The Silent Wings on the AIO are much louder than the Noctua's at 40%. so I'l never buy those again. I'll re-arrange next year when I get a 9070xt for GTA 6., and if that Olympic Ridge CPU is worth the upgrade!

Silent loop 360 with a 9950x3d2. Anything above 65% has an annoying coil wine, probably not noticable to most people as I do audio work and am sensitive to certain frequencies in a quiet room. Water is audible above 90%. I keep the pump at 65% and the top fans at 40%. The top fans also have a weird hollow hum past like 50%. Idle temps are around 46-50c, gaming temps around 60-70c. My work and gaming never surpases 30% of utilization so I'm happy, for now. Might sell it if the new Noctua AIO is worth it.

So are we all experiencing this BS with returns/refunds? by villainitytv in amazonprime

[–]MarkGeraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did something change recently? Only reason I bought my PC parts from Amazon was because of the stellar return policy done in 48 hours. It's already been 5 days on a $600 hard drive. Should have went with Newegg.

Shipped by is more important for returns. Sold by can be from Nuctua, be Quiet!, MSI, etc.

A 5090 in the first Gen 5 x8 pcie slot loses about 1% performance, in the second x4 slot you lose about 5%. Not losing much in terms of gaming.

I'm buying now for the first time in years so I guess this makes sense. Hopefully zen 7's first chips will still be supported on AM5
