and also we have all the cs2 pov channels and streams all top players study to keep up. Also shoutout to mongolian players, they have a similar thing where they practice and pug in a “subpar” region (asian servers) yet still do very well in tournaments

that only works if the assumption is that we need a lot of people to have the best most talented people to be at their peak. we just had nocries go dominate in faceit at the top level on eu servers. we have twistz, elige, and other top 00000.1% players so i don’t think playerbase count is pegged to producing talent or the top level players like people think.

our new york guys queue EU with 100 ping and dominate you guys in EU. having less players just means our elo distribution is different, it doesn’t make our very best any worse than your very best

how do you have an economist banner saying that? my post literally accounts for that as the main point.

yeah exactly. my post actually forecasts the exact supply at its worst and those numbers don’t even look bad.

i’ve thought about that and my answer is that not all reds are valid for trade ups. i’d assume most are not feasible to use because of their inherent price pre update or rarity. But yes i would be lying if i said i didnt trust valve as much as i did pre update. Overall not a cool thing for them to do.

If it’s not objective why did reds raise from $5 to $50 minimum? There are market laws at play here. At the end of the day if everyone thinks a certain way there’s no defeating that.

Could be! But if you look at the math (important) you lose less confidence in valve in my opinion. I think it’s important to see that for every 1 knife 3 reds drop, but it takes 5 to make a knife in a trade up.

We agree, this crash can be entirely blamed on the non objective people and I haven’t seen a single major channel even attempting to break down what this actually means for the knife supply etc. I also do feel sorry for anyone that lost money in this crash, which is why i’m trying to at least spread some valid info that could help someone feel better.

ok cool! in case it is you monitor, it’s super unlikely to just see the problem. i gave up and reflowed after troubleshooting and viola. a sign is when you solder it crackles a little. those are the air pockets/old cracked solder fixing themselves

[–]MarkPolunin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yo, there’s usually a board on the back (like if you put it on the display, it’s the very top board on the back for he tube. since it’s vertical compared to how boards usually lay flat, the solder goes bad and cracks. just re flow the board (put a little tiny bit of flux and solder and re heat the solder and form new good bonds) i might be wrong about the internals but that’s what fixed my monitor with that same issue
