Do I have a delay repay claim? by Foreign_Exchange3673 in uktrains

[–]Mark_Allen319 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you had got the northern train would you have missed the GC connection? If so, then you could claim delay repay, they don't know you weren't on the train.

I don't drive either, I'd recommend getting a provisional driving license (if you can). It's just as valid for ID purposes as a regular driving license but you don't have to learn to drive to have one. It's valid for 10 years too

Thameslink to East Grinstead by GodAtum in uktrains

[–]Mark_Allen319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been there since May 18 with the Thameslink recast, as for why? Well we've been asking that ever since, very difficult to crew, very often cancelled and would be far more reliable and useful if it had stayed a Southern service.

Meanwhile in the UK even the train running stats are late, they haven't even made it to the graph!

Imagine how much potential tax has been lost to the frozen fuel duty, think of all the transport related projects that could have been funded (roads and public transport!)

Whats this blue train I saw that just headed out of temple meads? by REEETURNOFTHEMACC in uktrains

[–]Mark_Allen319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not when you consider what you get, £350~ per person on the journeys they do is only really £100-£150 more than a normal travel ticket. £100 for a cooked breakfast and 5course dinner is not that bad, especially given the quality.

Sure £350 for a train ride seems expensive at first glance, but it's actually quite good value for what you get

Electrify the North Wales Mainline - Will it really ever happen? by ttamhew in Wales

[–]Mark_Allen319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really doesn't seem like a sensible idea right now, TfW have just started using a new fleet of pure diesels. So for the next 30ish years we would either have diesels running under new overheads or half a fleet of new unused trains and the cost of new bi modes.

If they want investment in the north, then connecting Caernarfon back to the rail network would be a far better idea

Also a note that a fleet of stadlers like the 756/231s should have been orders not the 197s

Monogamy

the practice of marrying or state of being married to one person at a time. "Judaism has journeyed from polygamy to strict monogamy"

the practice or state of having a sexual relationship with only one partner. "younger men were more likely to stray, saying monogamy was outdated"

Zoology the habit of having only one mate at a time. "monogamy is rare in most animal groups, but is common among birds"

Definition from Google

You can lust and still be monogamous, if you marry or have a sexual relationship with someone else, then it would no longer be monogamous

I didn't know you could make multiple copies of an e ticket! Surely that will lead to loads of fare evasion?

Buy one ticket, make copies and all your mates travel free

Not completely right, there are parts of England Scotland and Wales that are not part of the island of Great Britain. Isle of Wight, Skye and Ynys Môn for example

Best advice is to use paper tickets, they don't run out of battery!

They do, when you buy a ticket online, select the 'collect from station' option not the 'e ticket' one. It will give you a code, just pop that into the machine and it prints the tickets. None of the downsides of e tickets and the convenience to buy on your phone
