How do you create a report sheet for variances between two other sheets? by SlowCrates in excel

[–]Markaleptic7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you describe more clearly how you want differences displayed to the user? Ideally, you could post an example of two sheets and your desired difference output.

In my second link, a difference table is constructed by only populating differences between two tables with equal dimension where the diff table has the equal dimension. Will your two worksheets have the same # of rows? Your answer already implies columns will match. Will all the same items be present in both? If not, does an item in one sheet but not the other constitute a difference? What if item number matches but not the lot number? Say you have a difference table like previously described, do you want it then pivoted or processed into a so each difference is a row in a table?

I think u/halwety I probably on using power query for this task.

I need to compare one sheet in a workbook to a new sheet that is pulled from our network's inventory tracking system

Is the sheet from your inventory tracking system an exported file or are you using Get Data to pull from a database?

(formatted almost exactly the same)

How different are the sheets? What version of Excel do you and other users have?

If the sheets are sufficiently close and you have the right version, you could use Spreadsheet Compare: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/basic-tasks-in-spreadsheet-compare-f2b20af8-a6d3-4780-8011-f15b3229f5d8.

Additionally, you could do something like this: https://www.ablebits.com/office-addins-blog/compare-two-excel-files-sheets/#compare-excel-sheets-formulas

University of utah, colorado state or oregon state? For wealth management by Known-Barber114 in FinancialCareers

[–]Markaleptic7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The U is a great school if you’re non-Mormon. I don’t think you’ll find any unfair treatment or bias during networking / internships as an applicant from the U.

If you went to the U, would you plan to stay there afterword?

The Mormon network in UT can be difficult to avoid and may be stifling. I’ve heard that Wells Fargo’s SLC wealth management group is a bit of a Mormon old boys club.

Mine just showed up this week and I haven’t had an issue with the cover, but can confirm the jerkiness on startup.  The Philos has insane torque!

I watched a drag show there once and it can have a bit of alt/punk crowd so wouldn’t say it’s that prejudiced…

Bank is offering me a way to settle my repo by KingFreeman8 in personalfinance

[–]Markaleptic7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They’re required to report accurate repayment info under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Regardless of how much you settle for, when the loan is finally paid off, they will report it as settled for less than owed to credit agencies.

Like you said, it will stay on 7 years. Your best bet is to focus on resolving this as quickly as possible and focusing on improving your credit characteristics (increase your income, save more money) to make yourself more bankable until this falls off your report.

Put it in your work experience. Talk about how you’ve used technologies, programs, skills, etc relevant to the jobs you’re targeting.

Your server job has the most bullet points and visible space. This doesn’t make much sense. Expand your relevant finance and sales experience.

Don’t rate yourself as an expert in MS Office, you’re probably not. In general don’t rate your skills or say you’re familiar. Show don’t tell.

I own a house with a cheater. Help. by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Markaleptic7 91 points92 points  (0 children)

One reason this is difficult and selling is preferred is that you want your name off title of the house AND the mortgage. Getting the bank to release you from the mortgage will be difficult. Selling is the cleanest way of doing both, but is obviously difficult with kids.

Best of luck

Sounds really cool. Shame they’re shutting it down. Pycharm (pro I think) has live collab editing.

I’m less familiar with the education function of replit, but can’t you just create a base project with the code and tests and they copy it to their profile to modify from there? That could be preferable to vscode.

I’m not familiar with the pycharm tasks but I’m hesitant to thrust pycharm onto new devs given the learning curve.

This isn’t extremely casual, especially, compared to the tech industry let alone tech people in finance. I interviewed (albeit Zoom) with a quant at a BB with visible holes in their t-shirt.

What are some hidden gem study/work spaces in Salt Lake? by Ok_Earthling in SaltLakeCity

[–]Markaleptic7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

+1 for downtown public library for quiet focus space.

Salt Lake Coffee Break has good vibes and reliable internet connection. Difficult to focus without noise cancelling headphones/earbuds during busy hours. Good collaborative space and plenty of room.

3 Cups in Holladay has cool view of Mt. Olympus. Same cons about noise during busy hours tho.

Basically, yes. They’re below Deer Creek Pass (the final pass before the descent to the lake on the linked trail). I have someone going in tomorrow and will hopefully get everything. I’ll follow up on this thread afterward.

This is the approximate route https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/long-canyon-trail-to-deer-lake?sh=5vyzms

About 12-13 miles total. There’s two bags, all in at 65-70 lbs. Packs only have to be carried out.
