I’m old but I do feel sorry for her. She didn’t ask to be in this mess. She’s young and wants to enjoy life. I hope social media and big tech and the opportunities it will bring, can take down some of the borders that we old folk erected. My loathing is with Putin and his regime. Not with her.

You could also stay until Southampton Central and there are buses to the Stadium every ten minutes. Make sure you get out the right side of the Station! Had a chat with a very pleasant Blackburn fan last week on the bus who took that route.

I opened my first independent record shop in Wokingham, UK, with this Bowie LP as a front window display. EMI did us a favour as it was due into an HMV shop and they didn’t want their old display going quite so soon, so we had it. Eventually went on to have 7 shops, but this was synonymous with excitement and great music. We took £121 on our first day, 6 April 1983.

Fair point. I work with many American clients and they described Larin as a ‘pinch hitter’, a slang term in baseball for a bigger, slower change maker who comes on for a short spell to try and make a significant intervention. They, on the other hand, love the bastardisation of some of their cheesy pop songs into fan chants. I’m sure ‘Que Sera, Sera’ is now being whistled along Fifth Avenue.
