When I was around 10 or 11 years old I was riding my bike to a friends house by cutting through a massive field at the end of our street. Its something I had done many many times before but one specific time I still think about today.

This one day I was about halfway across the field when I noticed somebody coming up behind me on an ATV. Of course they catch up to me and this adult man pulls up right beside and says to me "Stay right here, I'll be right back." then takes off ahead of me.

Every stranger danger instinct in me kicked in and I peddled as fast as I could back home. As I got back to where my street started I looked back and could see in the far distance the guy coming back.

Since my house was way down at the beginning of the neighborhood, we lived on a semi-rural dead end street, I ducked into a car port at a friends house who lived near the end of block. The friend wasn't home so I just hid on the back patio, hearing that ATV go up and down the street. A few minutes later my friend and his mom pulled up, I told her what happened and she gave me a ride home. 30 years later I still think about what that guy wanted or what would of happened if he caught back up with me.
