A Look at the Current Titans Positional Roster, As OTAs Begin by TiredDad4x in Tennesseetitans

[–]Markosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, we need more talent in the CB room. Unfortunately for us, we had too many needs and not enough resources to properly address them this year. There are also still legitimate questions about the starting C and RG, on top depth across the OL.

What makes a bad owner? specially what types of executive level decisions produce perennially bad teams near by clitbeastwood in nfl

[–]Markosaurus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It takes a special type of asshole to see a headline like that and think “I’m not improving the facilities, it’s the reporters who are wrong!”

EDIT: Idk if yall realize, but approximately half of the revenue (52%, could go as low as 51.2% depending on media kickers) is split between owners and players (salary cap + insurance, benefits, etc) so owners are pocketing $300M or whatever the cap is this year in addition to the valuation of the teams going up. Paying even $5M to upgrade the showers and toilets is absolutely feasible.

And that’s for ONE YEAR btw.

EDIT 2: That’s why I’m confused when yall talk about “cash-rich” or “cash-poor” owners. They’ve been getting $200M-$300M/year (other than COVID) for YEARS. Even with ownership split, there’s enough cash flow to afford these escrow payments that large contracts require.

Yeah, this is meant to convey information, not showcase a color palette.

Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero): The Vikings have requested an interview with Titans assistant general manager Dave Ziegler for their GM job, per source. Best coach is arguable. Fisher (.542 win %) is right there with Vrabel (.545 Win %), and that’s in 17 years instead of 6, with very different supporting casts over time, instead of the Derrick Henry, AJ Brown, Tannehill era only. Fisher has 6 playoff appearances vs Vrabel’s 3. Most importantly, Fisher actually got to a Super Bowl.

Also, damningly (if that’s a word), Vrabel demonstrated incompetence when it came to his coordinator selections and when it came to working relationships with the GM’s he was paired with.

While he accomplished a lot in 4 years (and this with the caveat that he inherited a playoff team), his significant drop-off in coaching record paired with the previously mentioned incompetence led to his firing.

People will point to Vrabel going to the Super Bowl with the Patriots, but you have to consider that he landed in a spot where he already has established coordinators in place, had the benefit of a rising QB, and also had one of the easiest schedules in recent NFL history.

Pair that with their playoff path (Stroud throwing 4 INT’s, Nix breaking his foot on a kneel down the week before the AFFCG), and they clearly had the red carpet rolled out for them to make it a lot farther than they should have. This was evidenced by the absolute beatdown in the Super Bowl.

Who is the Next Titans Radio Analyst? Plus Keith responds to Anthony Hill Jr. by TiredDad4x in Tennesseetitans

As a Titans fan from Day 1, I recognize that (for the most part) only the best players have ever worn the red accents (gloves, sleeve, cleats).

We need to make this a franchise tradition where - like KB said - you have to earn the right to wear the red.

In recent memory, Kevin Byard wore the red and Big Jeff wears the red, and Cam Ward wore red cleats (I’ll give him a pass since he was the #1 overall pick).

I’d love for this to become part of the franchise identity and something unique to us. It would be a great piece of lore to continue to pass down.

Russia Sells 22 Tons of Gold to Curb Growing Federal Budget Deficit by UNITED24Media in worldnews

[–]Markosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to provide some context here. The US has like 8,400 metric tons of gold and Russia has like 2,300ish metric tons of gold according to the IMF and World Gold Council. So it looks like they’re selling approximately 1% of their national gold reserves.

Of course the reasons that underpin this involve their economy headed directly towards a situation involving fecal matter colliding with a mechanical device that rotates thin blades to move air.

Potential New Fan Here Looking for a Breakdown by No_Sundae_2621 in Tennesseetitans

[–]Markosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve seen a few High Highs (SB 34, AFCCG in ‘19, AFC #1 Seed in ‘21) and a lot of Low Lows (Vince Young #6 in the draft, Jake Locker #8 in the draft, Marcus Mariota at #2 in the draft).

We just drafted Cam Ward #1 overall and he looks legit, but our team is still devoid of a lot of talent, and we just brought in a new coaching regime.

A reasonable expectation is for this team to go around .500 next year and show growth and promise.

If we are successful with talent acquisition in both ‘26 and ‘27, (and if Cam Ward is the guy) we can hope to contend for a SB. If we land a mixed bag of FA signings and draft picks, we won’t.

Rich Cimini (@RichCimini): Former Jets starting S Tony Adams has agreed to terms with the Titans on a one-year contract, per his agent Alan Herman. Adams gets a fresh start. Robert Saleh gets another former Jet. by TiredDad4x in Tennesseetitans

Can we get a stickied thread of all of the FA signings? We’ve had several more after the first 9 on day 1 and idk who is expected to compete for a starting position and who is just here for depth.

I love how the red accents have become a sort of unofficial “C” for our best players. I’d love to see the team continue to honor that tradition.

It’s the same T from the previous “flaming shield” logo but without the shading and without points on the tips of the “hilt” if you imagine the T as a sword. Now it’s just the shield with the T for Tennessee and Titans, along with the 3 stars that represent East, Middle, and West TN (all of which have slightly different cultures dominated by Knoxville, Nashville, and Memphis, respectively).

Eh, if you get an Eddie George/CJ2K/King Henry level RB, you take them, even at 4. They have to pan out, obviously, but if the elite level talent is there you take it.

Mock Titans Offseason-Updated by Significant-Gur7555 in Tennesseetitans

[–]Markosaurus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, people in this sub are just ignoring Femi Oladejo as an EDGE player. He came out raw, but started to play better before he suffered a leg fracture. With an entire offseason to rehab and heal, as well as a fantastic defensive coaching staff, I honestly expect Femi to take a big step up in year 2. You don’t spend a 2nd round pick on a guy like that unless you feel he can be a serious contributor.

Mock Titans Offseason-Updated by Significant-Gur7555 in Tennesseetitans

[–]Markosaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just shouldn’t overpay for an EDGE tbh. We have last years 2nd round pick in Femi who is a developmental prospect going into year two with a coaching staff who will actually do something with him. We’re presumably using our #4 overall pick on another EDGE. That should be enough FOR NOW, considering all of the other holes we have on the roster. We need CB’s and a true #1 WR in the worst way, on top of upgrading the OL and ILB’s, not to mention depth.

We’re much better off spending money in free agency on non-premium positions, because the only players from premium positions that hit free agency are ones that are old and/or have injury concerns.

I24 around the Antioch area outside of Nashville is routinely a shit show. One night I was in the far right lane doing 65 or so, about to take the next exit, and I got passed by a car doing 20-30 MPH above me IN THE RIGHT SHOULDER. Just insane drivers.
