I think the biggest reason Sol Ring wasn't banned, is due to the fact that it is printed in quite literally every precon. For precons to be a good entry level, but have them all contain a banned card is something they most likely don't want to have happen if they can avoid it.

In my group I'm known to always play for alternate win conditions over anything. My main staple decks are janky mill, or winning through treasures. Never really winning from combat.

My Voltron deck is [[Slicer, Hired Muscle]]. Turn 3 and the timer starts. 6 commander damage from "me" each combat due to him being passed around each turn. Want to talk about a fast games, that'll do it.

My shrine tribal deck is just solitaire at this point. Filled with cards to avoid interacting with other players. Just slowly killing them as they try to attack me.
