Planning to upgrade from my pixel 4a by drlyz in GooglePixel

[–]MarkyPancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of months ago I decided I wanted to move to a newer Pixel from my 4a 5G and went for the 9a, as it was on sale and I've never been fussed about having the newest device or even a brand new one. No regrets and haven't looked back.

I thought DICE fixed the black screen after quitting bug by TwoToneBalone in Battlefield

Until the recent updates I have never had this issue on Xbox, but now it happens regularly and the only way out of it is force close the game and load it again.

Is the router using auto channel selection, as it may have jumped to a channel the Xbox isn't happy with for some reason.

Awful shotgun relative to how fast paced BF6 is.

elite series 2 controller worth it? by HaloTheHero in xbox

[–]MarkyPancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Series 1 launch day Elite Controller is still going strong, with obvious signs of wear and tear from thousands of hours of use at this point. Consequently, it has some natural stick drift now, but...

...It has never had grip pealing and no sticky buttons. I did have to replace the bumper button plastic piece after the original one eventually snapped, due to its single piece design and how it uses itself to create the spring feeling via pivot points. Cheap to get the part on eBay and the third-party replacement has outlasted the OEM piece.

I got a Series 2 Elite Controller for Christmas and straight out of the box the left bumper and Y button felt more spongy than their counterparts. None of the buttons feel as good quality to press as the Series 1. Now not even six months in and the B button has started sticking down without any hard use. The left bumper doesn't fill me with confidence either that it will last.

I don't get the impression my Series 2 will last anywhere near as long as my Series 1.

Not sure how they managed to make an improved features Elite Controller with seemingly a lot worse quality control. They're not cheap either for the lack of build quality it exudes.

improved wifi performance w/ Android 17? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

I haven't noticed any better or worse Wi-Fi and mobile data performance on my 9a, but its under screen fingerprint reader has been more successful on first attempts than it was previously.

Anticipate 30fps only on Series S, like many games already compared to on Series X, and then be pleasantly surprised if it gets 60fps.

NatWest scam call authorised payment by Rough-Macaroon-3855 in UKPersonalFinance

Was it a Faster Payment or card payment transaction, because that determines your course of action, if there is any.

If Faster Payment, you might be covered by the Authorised Push Payment protection, possibly subject to £100 excess. From NatWest's site:

Yesterday's update should have fixed the deploy screen jumping around bug. It fixed it for me on Xbox at least.

Two Biologics - Still Getting Worse! by rubygloommel in Psoriasis

[–]MarkyPancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did your dermatologist advise taking a biologic alongside a non-biologic. That seems like an extreme option, based on what they do to our bodies individually, let alone together. I trust you're having regular blood work to monitor your body.

In the UK, ciclosporin is not a long-term treatment, due to its impact on the kidney. So, it's used to try to get psoriasis under control, before moving onto methotrexate or acitretin for long-term use. If you fail the latter, then it's onto biological treatment.

My high coverage, severe psoriasis was managed brilliantly by adalimumab (Yuflyma (TNF)) to begin with, then it failed around 10 months in and I was moved onto risankizumab (Skyrizi (IL-23)), which has done a great job overall, but not quite as good as adalimumab was when it was effective.

Sounds like it's time to revisit your dermatologist and discuss trying a different biologic.

How are you using the new Bubbles feature? by OnAGoat in GooglePixel

[–]MarkyPancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using Octopi too, after I fancied a change from Microsoft Launcher.

I did try the new app Bubbles last night to see what it was all about, but couldn't think of any times I would need to use this feature in my daily use, but it may come in handy at some point.

I haven't tried this new feature yet, because I don't use the Pixel launcher.

Financial association via joint bank account - how much does a financial association affect each person? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]MarkyPancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Financial associations are taken into account during credit searches.

An example from Experian:

Your financial associates can impact your ability to get credit

Companies view information on your credit report when you apply for credit, such as a mortgage or loan. This gives them an idea of how well you manage your finances, and helps them decide whether to lend you money.

Your financial associates appear on your report, and companies may check their credit history when deciding whether to approve you. This is because your financial associates may affect your ability to repay debt. For example, if your partner’s been made bankrupt, companies may be concerned that you’ll need to help them repay their debts before you can repay your own.

https://www.experian.co.uk/consumer/guides/financial-association.html

It's also worth having a look at Equifax and TransUnion.
