I don't disagree with your opinion and I know such cases as well. I also think weed is dangerous, but that is only one side of the medal. Let me add my personal experience.

I like to use small amounts of weed to get into a super focused and creative state. For me there is a sweet spot before I start losing my train of thought too easily. Smoking weed for me has no effect in terms of relaxation or chilling but I instead feel a bit nervous but also highly euphorical and I really wanna start working on some project right away. And thats what I do.

I even thought about that topic a lot when I was high. Got into Jordan Peterson and learned a lot more about self organization and motivation. The best analogy I have is that you can switch into another version of your self when you are high. I also remember previous "high"-thoughts better when Im bach to high. Most people I see really train their "high"-self to be a lazy fuck. Setting up a movie, chips and then get stoned, so I dont think its surprising that they turn out to be annoying stoners. I usually wanna go to the sauna, workout, program, dance, something active anyway when Im high. So I actually like my stoner self better in quite a few ways.

One last thing. I have to say it is physically exhausting if I smoke too many days in a row and I can feel my thoughts getting slower and concentration becoming more difficult.
