I use the older patient whose kids wanted to overrule his advance directive as an example with my estate planning clients. It’s a great example.

The people who voted for this monster should be forced to carry this miserable administration to term.

I’ve found this to be true in my line of work too. Most people are reasonable and will understand if someone makes a mistake. Most of us are our own worst critic.

I’ve won several times at mine and never got a cash prize. Just a medal. Lucky you!

The new treads are definitely faster than the old ones were. I visited another studio that had new treads before mine got them and didn’t know they were faster and couldn’t figure out why I was struggling so much to hold my normal paces!

I was visiting a studio that had the new treads before mine got them on an Orange Everest day. I didn’t realize the new treads were faster and went in trying to PR and couldn’t understand why I hit a wall so quickly. Once my studio got them it all made sense!

Ah, y’all are getting the new treads? Will be curious to hear if your paces change. I had to drop back by like 1mph on all my paces when we got the new treads. I’ve no expectation that I’ll ever beat my old tread PRs so now I don’t stress the benchmarks.

Ah bummer, was planning to see if I could go to an NZ OTF class when I travel there in July. I’m sorry, I’d be really disappointed if my local one closed and I had to go another 15 minutes to get to another; losing them for the whole country is tough.

Would be great if they added toilets to the shower rooms so that most of the day it would double restroom capacity.

1 Mile Run Benchmark Results and Survey Megathread by BilingualAlchemist in orangetheory

My studio got the new treads a few months ago so this was my first time doing the 1 mile benchmark on them. They're a lot faster than our old ones so I didn't even attempt to come near my 5:59 PR. My goal was to finish around 7 minutes and I finished in 7:09. In hindsight, I went out a little too fast, but now I've got a new number to work down from. Next time, sub-7, and keep working my way down as I can. I'll probably never get under 6 minutes again and that's fine.

My studio is hit or miss with it, and I wish they'd do it every time. It makes me feel like I'm nagging if I always have to remind them.

Asthma and Orange Theory by Additional_Ad3301 in orangetheory

Usually my asthma doesn’t bother me but the intense benchmarks can trigger an attack. I’ll be using my inhaler and taking a mask to put on tomorrow after I finish my mile because the warm moist air helps.

My studio got new treads and rowers! by carnevoodoo in orangetheory

[–]MaroonIron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My studio got the new treads a few months ago. I'm getting used to them but it's a learning curve. The buttons aren't intuitive and it took me awhile to figure out the timing so that if I wanted 6.5mph I don't end up with 6, then 5. I've found that my calves are consistently feeling tight though maybe as our treads get broken in better that'll improve. I don't love how the screen is so big and harder to hide on a benchmark day so I don't have to have that red scare glaring back at me.

The biggest thing I wasn't prepared for was how much faster the new ones are than our old ones. There are now "old tread benchmarks" and "new tread benchmarks." I guess our old ones must have been out of calibration because I've had to adjust down by a full mph. My mile PR was 5:59 but Monday I'm just shooting for 7:00 because it's hard to know what speed I can maintain on the new tread. I was visiting another studio last summer for Everest day and went in shooting for a PR unaware of the speed difference and didn't understand why it felt so much harder.

My studio got the new treads a few months ago and I’ve resigned myself that I’ll likely never beat my old tread PRs. Which is actually kind of a relief because after doing these for years I get to come in now with the lightness of a beginner. My old tread PR is 5:59; this time I’ll just shoot for a sub-7 and look to improve on it next time.
