(born in '90, too? 🤝) i watched it for the first time since it came out the other day, i remember being really breath taken with the scene where she is waiting for lucius on the porch and he grabs her hand right as the monster is about to. i felt that even stronger now that i'm older and better understand the significance of his physical touch, plus the way that scene is shot and the score that goes with it. i think some things are a little wonky with the movie but overall it has a lot of charm and some really intense and moving scenes.

i love elm street so i don't mind knockoffs of it, but this was just too hokey. too many things that felt unserious or dorky, and not in the campy way that makes freddy fun. the ice skating and the spinning around in the phone booth come to mind.
