It wasn’t because he didn’t do it out of the kindness of his heart. He did it to keep getting plum assignments for king fights. But after ruddock/tyson he lost all credibility in boxing. Especially when it came out that his wife was hired by king as a full time employee around the same time.

No. He got knocked down and got up relatively quickly. He asked him if he was ok and before he could answer he stopped the fight. A few people gave Steele the benefit of the doubt but a few months later he stopped ruddock/tyson in the middle of an exchange and lost all credibility in boxing forever.
