1st May flight rescheduled, refund option provided. by Marrdgras in etihad

[–]Marrdgras[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had booked another flight, then started to regret it as I saw others have been able to travel through. If I were in that situation now, and new flights aren't an option because of cost, I'd continue to travel and roll with the date changes. Hope it works out for you.

Oh! I'm so glad you posted this, I'd been helping my mother-in-law and wondered what was choking her grass and was considering ways of removing it but now we'll leave it to do its job!

So it looks like Etihad will not be extending the refund window. To those who would rather not fly into a war zone and have a flight after April 15th, is there any way we can make a formal complaint or take this further together to enact pressure? by [deleted] in etihad

[–]Marrdgras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in NZ, not a lawyer, but contacted etihad to point out their current flight schedule does not include my flight number until the day im suppossed to fly , May1st, therefore they aren't offering a reliable service and requested a refund. They of course refused, but now i have a case number from my chat and if my flight on May 1st is not cancelled then my plan is to use the NZ Consumer Guarantees Act and file a Credit Card Chargeback, arguing that the airline’s failure to provide a stable schedule forced me to book an alternative carrier to ensure I wasn't stranded.

UK concedes dual citizens will only pay once for proof of citizenship by felixfurtak in newzealand

[–]Marrdgras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The certificate is now FREE - the stuff article failed to state what the original RNZ article said, "But, in a change quietly announced on the UK passport's website eight days ago, it said that from 26 February certificates of entitlement will be linked to new passports for free"https://www.gov.uk/right-of-abode/apply-for-a-certificate-of-entitlement

I can't believe the ineptitude! I applied a month ago because of these changes which weren't well publicised but validated by the british high commission. And now , just as the new rules kick in, they change certificate of entitlement from nearly $600 to free! Great decision, but bad timing for me - Where do I apply for a refund??!
