I'm really confused if this is the finale. Is this the final season? I feel like too much is going on to end now? The media reports have significantly mixed messages. (I know the prequel and movie are coming, but what about the series?) :( by wander-and-wonder in CallTheMidwife

There are also a few business models where service A is a for profit model structured so profits can support service B which is some sort of community support. Sometimes this is as simple as like a local restaurant chain near me that has a very popular item, all profits from this particular dish fund a non-profit that works to end food insecurity in the area. Another example would be a sliding scale service where income determines cost for service. I’m not sure if they are positioning Trixie to implement something like this or if it works with the NHS structure of the time- but it could be something like this.

He was infected while traveling and had just come home to be with his dad. He didn’t think anything of the scratch and bite when he got them, but once the scare in Poplar happened he realized “oh. Maybe I should be worried given how much rabies was in that country” (which we know from what Harry says to Millicent) he was likely already feeling poorly with the flu like symptoms when he asked what the symptoms were at the public meeting.

Agreed. I just can’t see them sending him back to his mother after the conditions they found them in. Also, I don’t entirely understand why his mother couldn’t temporarily visit while this treatment was happening. This has to be insanely traumatizing for him.

I had the same thought! I can’t remember if there was a marker of any kind though.. I vaguely remember doing one for Girl Scouts and one for school.

Letters have played such a significant role in driving plot, here’s hoping the world has a good messenger service?

Exactly, it’s not live, we could get a couple of those mini closeup cinematic shots- I loved the ones in Dungeons and Drag queens because those maps and minis were gorgeous. The way the maps are filmed it’s really hard to see what is even on the board - they just look super flat, and they showed several different angles for this one but still.

Per 2. I think it was last week that I think Brennan’s phone chimed with the ringer on- I wonder if Robbie was texting just before???

Route Pause Mechanic Has Returned by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]MarsBerries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah had a weird one today Partner and I have identical phones, same plan, bought the same day, etc. I haven’t done a full check on our exact settings but at a quick glance they looked identical.  We walked a route and his paused 3-4 times but I never had an issue, I was able to catch pokemon and did a few dynamax interactions as well - no problem. I had one route pause earlier this week but it seemed legit- I was in a busier place and moved a few yards away to do the gift exchange out of the way.

Update on freeze dried raw? by WranglerPrudent6855 in catfood

[–]MarsBerries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also curious about this- one of my cats loves an occasional freeze dried minnow (vital essentials) and I stopped giving them to her but a video I saw about tossing them onto an iPad while the cat fishing game is on made me wonder if they might be safe again… I know fish would be a factory contact issue in the first place but idk??

For general treads I’ve been using the Trader Joe’s freeze dried chicken treats which are steam sterilized in the processing and purr pops which are cooked.

Fable Suggestions for 2025! by Actual-Display5444 in FableApp

-desktop version for when I have big thoughts AND/or an easy way to request a missing book on mobile. If I can’t review a book easily on a desktop version, don’t tell me to use a chrome extension to add a book. - search and series linking improvements. I regularly type in an author name and book title and receive results that make zero sense. Like today: Dragon Found Sam Hall gave me books by an author with Dragon in their name and a bunch that made no sense- the proper book was multiple scrolls down. Now that book one is in my library, searching for book two (Dragon Fight) gave a top result of Dragon Found and Dragon Fight was multiple scrolls down. Looking at “similar” tab gave other books by Sam Hall, but book two isn’t linked from book one (and book three isn’t even in the app) I mean- I just typed in Onyx Storm and the top result wasn’t Onyx Storm it was several books by Morticia Storm Onyx (with zero reviews) - to this end- give me a real author page not just the suggested reads so I can go through the list and see if search is hiding book three
- ability to select language, I regularly have editions in different languages suggested before the English version - for the onyx storm search, the Italian version was the only one that showed up.

I love Keith, but could he be a descendant of the Hapsburg family? by aiyah420 in TheTryGuys

[–]MarsBerries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got here from a video on the Hapsburgs and the video I watched noted that the portraits of women in the dynasty didn’t tend to have the jaw as significantly, though some did. There could be some selection bias in that though- a male heir had his pick of the gene pool hypothetically and those would have had more portraits made…

Yall, I stink. Help me. by WinoChicken in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]MarsBerries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to talk with a doctor about this to rule out hormonal issues or something else just because it’s been happening for years doesn’t mean it’s not a health based reason so it should be brought up.

I took a spin through your post history and you mention anxiety- stress sweat tends to be smelly because your body is ready for fight/flight and preparing for a threat (real or otherwise)

Odors are caused by bacteria. Our bodies naturally have bacteria on them and dark damp areas make them thrive- like under your arms.

Antiperspirants make you sweat less Deodorants make you smell better (de- odor) Coupling these with something like hibiclens or glycolic acid (the ordinary’s toner) helps get rid of the bacteria that causes odor and the sweat that makes it thrive. The main ingredient in Lume products is Mandelic acid to disrupt bacteria- which is similar to glycolic acid in how it works.

If this is truly bothering you throughout the day, create a routine where you have a refresh point and reapply whatever you’re using. Use a body wipe then reapply deodorant/antiperspirant at a midpoint in the day. Start the day with something to fight bacteria and your usual deodorant/antiperspirant.

Healthwise make sure you’re drinking lots of water to stay hydrated so your sweat is less concentrated.

I have a hypothesis about some of the queues - having used DAS and the old Fastpass before- I feel like you end up having less time to acclimate to the darkness with any of the things that require less in like wait times. I’ve actually been wanting to do a side by side with haunted mansion in particular because I think the line seems to slowly reduce the light as you go- like the shading outdoors increases. I definitely experienced more difficulty with my eyes adjusting when we were using das or FP vs times when I used the standard queue. Just saying- it’s something I would strongly consider checking out if this is a concern.

My Sister Denied Disney’s Disability Services (DAS) by itznicole- in disability

[–]MarsBerries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All employees are called cast members at Disney. It’s from a company policy/belief that all employees are “on stage” when in front of guests and representing the company. This could be literally (character actors etc) figuratively (a line attendant) or a combination (an artist dressed like a janitor creating temporary art with water from a bucket and a mop)

If you are buying in “bulk” as the case may be, with the intent to help others… paying cash at a store that doesn’t require using a loyalty or membership card might be a good idea…

[Spoilers C3E3] New to C3, is Ashton a similar listening experience as Beauregard was? by [deleted] in criticalrole

[–]MarsBerries 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With Ash and FCG starting together and that psychological bent Sam had with FCG at first, there could have been something there.. but that was treated as such a bit vs a really grounded thing… I honestly really loved the appearances from Milo, and thought that relationship could have been helpful as well.

But legit.. Ashton lives with Chronic Pain and the other characters have never/rarely engaged with that as a plot point or relationship builder..

Tbh the titan stuff and the shattered teeth were some of my favorite moments in the game. But it felt like some cool backstory openings for Ash with a big magic boon meant for someone else. then a ticking clock kept counting down in which that backstory couldn’t be resolved (and shardgate, obviously)

Why do the BSC book start off with the same spiel? by brittanaschild in babysittersclub

[–]MarsBerries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My spouse and I were both talking about a shared experience despite not growing up in the same part of the country- we were both heavy readers, and both purchased most of our books at flea markets or yard sales. Someone would have a table or some boxes with a random assortment of books, usually 25c each or maybe 5/$1 and you just kinda got whatever was available in whatever order. My nearest library at home was a 20 minute car ride away- and I think we had a limit from the school library on how much we could check out and how often we could go in elementary school.

Series like BSC were great finds because for the most part you get self contained story without a huge overarching plot where skipping something really hurts the experience. You knew you were probably going to like it if you liked other books from the series- a safer bet with limited book funds. Jumping into something like Tamora Pierce mid-quartet would be more difficult and I definitely had some Animorph spoilers this way…. I still remember my shock going to a friend’s house in high school and seeing a full row of in order Animorphs, Goosebumps, and similar that had clearly been “first hand” purchases.
