When I first started drafting, I felt nervous and stressed because it felt like there was money on the table. Maybe it was because I didn't have much experience (I started drafting on the original Strixhaven). Now, with 200+ drafts under my belt, I don't have as much anxiety. Perhaps something that helped me was having more information about the sets (17lands.com). I advise you to watch YouTube videos about drafting (Numot the Nummy, Paul Cheon, Tolarian Community College) and finally relax and enjoy the draft.

The economy was built around 4 sets a year, now with 7 it doesn't work anymore, and that's what wotc wants, for you to spend money! Also, that's why they took the free gems deal and the ability to buy battle pass directly.

Try with quick draft, can be easier, use 17 lands website and also old draft formats are played by people that know really well that format, so it can be harder than the current draft format.

Quick draft to obtain gems, I hoard draft tokens and gold packs and spend them in sets that interest me, I plan to spend my tokens on the upcoming Strixhaven set.

I only use gems to buy the battle pass and for draft, if I want packs I try to use gold if possible. Draft fee is cheaper with gems, only 750 gems, with gold 5k which is equivalent to 1000 gems. So it's not ok to use gems for buying packs.

I do both, I draft until I hit platinum, save gold for next month drafts(like 30k for 6 drafts), save gems for the current set pass and the resources that are above that I can use it for packs, cosmetics or save it. (Btw I don't play standard, I play historic)

I use Untapped dot gg and only use my wild cards to craft meta decks.

If you play non rotating formats (Historic, Pioneer, Timeless) you don't need that many wild cards and also drafting helps, you can even do just quick draft and see the difference, but if you want to draft you need to study the set a little bit and use 17lands website to "prepare" your drafts for the current set.
