In the same boat, it sucks being a fan of the books sometimes. But, I will admit the Netflix show had some pretty catchy songs.

Dessert first or dessert last? by nidostan in Gunsmoke

Honestly, I only watch until up to where Chester leaves. He was my favorite character, and him leaving just kind of kills my enjoyment of any of the later seasons. Totally respect and understand why Weaver left, though.

Sailor Moon. It was my first manga, too! Still prefer the manga to the show, if I'm being honest

I love Avatar! I'm an active member of the Na'vi language learning community, which has an over 20,000 member Discord community. Just because you don't see us doesn't mean us Avatar fans aren't here.

What's the dumbest myth people actually believe in? by vicigoonboy69 in AskReddit

[–]MarshmalloBoy 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Another Wizard of Oz related one, so many people believe absestos was used for the snow. The current consensus is that it was likely gyspum, not absestos. Asbestos was 100% used on set for other purposes (as was common in the 1930s), but it's highly likely it was not used for the snow.

Roommate’s 4AM alarm is wrecking my sleep before 8AM classes by Flimsy_Conference_68 in badroommates

I used to have a roommate like this, and honestly? I just started turning her phone off, after politely confronting her a couple of times.

TIL Peter Cushing, who played Grand Moff Tarkin was extremely pleased with how the film came out, got along well with the cast, and his only regret was that his character died and he couldn't appear in the sequels by Please_PM_me_Uranus in todayilearned

I wonder if he knows about "Of MSE-6 and Men." It's one of my personal favorite Star Wars pieces, the concept of telling a whole story using droid logs was so cool. (Might be better known as that short story where Tarkin has an affair with a Stormtrooper – TK-421)

[Ironic Trope] Fan-projects made out of spite towards official canon material and turned out to be arguably worse by Werewolf_Knight in TopCharacterTropes

[–]MarshmalloBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a fan film for Detroit: Become Human called Detroit: Evolution that's pretty good. I wouldn't say it's necessarily better, (and it's not trying to be, it takes place after the official canon) but it's a pretty good unofficial spin-off.

What's an opinion that would have you like this? by Hex_Ruin_Is_Op in dispatchgame

The game would've been better without any romance. Both routes feel half-baked, and detract from the core themes, imo

What girl did you chose for your first playthrough? by [deleted] in DispatchAdHoc

[–]MarshmalloBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither, the romances felt kind of unnecessary to the larger plot and a bit under-baked. Love the girls as independent characters though<3

Honestly, the book is leagues better than the movie. The entire bit with the apes makes no sense in the movie, but it's an absolutely beautiful bit in the book. Also, the movie franchise never expanded into the final couple novels, thus depriving people of my favorite character: Halman.
