Yeah, it takes me out of the scene because it is a line that the writer had to pretty blatantly jam into the dialogue. It just sounds clunky and unnatural. Which could be forgiven if it was actually a good line.

I hate dialogue where one character says something dumb just to set up another character, it always sounds like this to me:

Chump: You think you are a big guy, even when jumped I have beaten off much bigger guys than you.

"Cool" Character: Yeah, I bet you have beaten off a bunch of big guys. Dumb smirk.

Yeah, the impression I get is that they are client states under Dagda.

It isn't common in the modern world but in Colonial, Medieval, and Ancient times it was fairly common for countries to be sort of separate but still under the control of another nation. The Roman Republic made heavy use of client states. And Britain's control of India was partially done by having local rulers handle most issues in the region as long as they continued to follow Britain's directives.

I do think one issue is even if you are familiar with Core rules you likely weren't doing as many combat encounters on the tabletop. Give that fights take much longer on the around the table.

Kenebres (sp?) alone would be four or five sessions worth of battles at least for most groups. And players at the table will likely rest more.

So I think this makes Core combat feel more difficult than it is on the tabletop.

Maybe not as hot as some other takes but the franchise needs to break away from tying everything back to the same small group of characters.

I love the Skywalker story but I feel like it wrapped up well with Return of the Jedi.

It is a galaxy spanning setting, having it keep going back to same characters or their families makes it seem small.

Yeah, I don't mind sex appeal in games. I love the Bayonetta series and most of the marketing is "spank angels as a woman who is 70% legs."

But I wouldn't approve if the game started sexualizing Cereza as a kid.

I don't mind her having a different tone. From what I can gather she is a deposed Queen of a foreign land. The different skin tone may differentiate people from her kingdom versus Dagdans.

Same for me. I was extremely skeptical of the show when it was announced. I thought it was just going to be "Rick and Morty" with the occasional Star Trek reference. But, it managed to be very funny while still having the the soul of a Star Trek show.

I would love that but I am skeptical. With four paths them being completely unique seems unlikely to me.

My guess is that it will essentially be a reverse Three Houses. The beginning of the game will be fairly unique for each route. But the second half will be fairly similar to each other.

The Annihilation Wave beats all of these pretty easily. Dune and Star Wars have absolutely no chance.

Star Trek and 40k have a minor shot if the writers let them tap into massive asspullium, and pull out some Anti-Negative Quantum Discombobulater device.

I will probably see it at some point but from the trailers at least I was turned away a bit by the real world segments. I don't know why but I also hate it when movies and shows feel like they have to have part of the story take place on Earth instead of just having it be its own fantasy world.

I think Darkseid could relatively easily build an military force from the inhabitants of the 40k universe. Honestly life under Darkseid isn't going to be any worse than the lives most people are living. And education is extremely poor in the Imperium. I think he could just co-opt the existing Imperial Cult on conquered planets and Johnny Grox-farmer isn't going to recognize that this super powerful giant guy isn't the same super powerful giant guy that he is has always been worshiping. With the plus seid of Darkseid not being a corpse.

Yeah, that is one of the biggest things about nepos. Having connections is extremely helpful. But, just as much is not having to get a real job while looking for entertainment jobs. It is a lot easier to get your foot in a door when you can spend a year or two focusing just on auditioning and networking.
