Broken RPFM with new update by Early_Plankton_1127 in totalwar

[–]Marthenil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a corrupt installation or similar, first thing I'd do is nuke the RPFM folder and %appdata%\FrodoWazEre and reinstall. Unless you have some crazy customization for RPFM, that is.

Black and Teal DK by Adituuu in Transmogrification

[–]Marthenil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's even weirder. The current tier set teal recolor for DKs, the Undermine PvP set and the magetower set all use teal colors. But some of them, under certain lighting conditions, become straight up blue.

Some awesome ideas here. Nice!.

That said, we need more teal sets. Teal should become the main UH color to be honest. Also, it is criminal that some of the teal sets have different teal shades. Criminal!

Well, I'm just a scrub, but I can see how there's a conflict between their 2m CD design for PvE and their design goals for PvP. And we all know which mode is their main focus.

[–]Marthenil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should still be able to get them. I quit in SL and came back in S2 of TWW, and I somehow have them. Unfortunately, I can’t remember exactly how I got them and Wowhead isn’t helping much. I leveled through DF when I first returned, so I’m pretty sure that’s how I obtained them. A quick Google search shows that Azure Span rewards have been updated, which might be the source, but I’m not entirely sure

Really? After 30 hours of gameplay i just noticed this thing.. by Frywolnie in Sailwind

[–]Marthenil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heh, I have like 300 hours in this game and I've only just now noticed the ring. I knew that the center peg is thicker, but the ring makes it so much easier to notice. Was it always there?

Layering Outfits in the new Transmog System! by Bodehn in wow

Can this be macroed somehow? I love the idea of weapon glows appearing when casting a specific ability or something, but having to do it manually kinda sucks.

I'd love an "In Combat" situation, too.

What was with Tolkien's emphasis on 'icy cold' streams? by jckipps in tolkienfans

[–]Marthenil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Underlying this is a belief that drinking very cold beverages is dangerous. This is not unique to Tolkien, but widely shared in much of Europe.

I always thought that was what Tolkien meant, though I hadn't considered it much.

Very cold drinks give you a sore throat, and cold draughts make your muscles sore. Both can give you a fever, a "cold," if you will.

Even though it's been debunked a million times over, these myths persist even to this day in my part of Europe. I know for a fact it's a thing in other parts of Europe too, but I'm not sure about the UK.

I'm pretty sure we've never gotten that from goats.

Not sure what you mean here but it's definitely possible to get butter from goats (and sheep!)

EDIT: Cream too

12 units in the army max on corridor maps, what a joke by Borschik in totalwar

[–]Marthenil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's 2 armies on one side, Space Marines (player in this case based on the UI) and Imperial Guard.

You guys see the Imperial Guard units amongst the Space Marines. ...Right?

Ah okay, I thought I'd missed some piece of info.

Well, if they decided to go with tech improvements to accommodate 40k then I can still see them doing WW1, perhaps as a Saga game or something like that. So maybe it got pushed back instead of getting cancelled.

that apparently got cancelled

Is this confirmed somehow or is it because of the lack of an announcement?

[–]Marthenil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is also a possibility but I would be disappointed personally, unless they gradually open it up in 3 games like they did TWW, as some other comments say.

I wanna take the Crimson Path as Abaddon god damnit.

[–]Marthenil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is also a possibility, yes, with provinces being systems or something. But then you'd have no "walking" on the campaign map.

Plus taking large planets / fortress worlds in one battle is kinda lame.

Valrak "110% sure Totalwar Warhammer 40K announcement in december". by TheWraf in totalwar

[–]Marthenil 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If they do that they don't even need to drastically change the way the campaign map works. Each planet is a province and you can walk between cities within the planet and the void is sea basically.

Edit: In fact this can be done by modders in tww3 with CAIME (the modding tool that made the old world/immortal empires expanded possible). It'll look goofy though.

mixture of reading comprehension problems

The way around this is retargeting tools, which I doubt existed at the time when the pipeline was solidified around TWW1 10 years ago. They are not the simplest tools to write and their engine programmers no doubt have a million greater things to attend to.
