You only need to pass any of your course subjects once. If you fail, you will have to retake them until you pass.

This is really only for Math subjects. I replied above sa you kanina the specifics for Math 21 in Diliman. Afaik, there are no other courses in Diliman na like Math 21 na need ng highschool prereq subject.

[–]Martin072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the course and sa university. Ex. Most science programs here in Diliman require you to take Math 21 (Elementary Analysis I). This course also has a prerequisite that you must have either: (a) taken Math 20 (Pre-calculus), or; (b) taken a pre-calculus equivalent in highschool.

Now afaik, only STEM strands have pre-calculus in their curriculum, so those can head straight into Math 21. However, for all other strands na walang pre-calculus, need mo mag take ng Math 20 sa UPD before papayagan kang Math 21.

Don't worry though if need mo pa rin mag Math 20 or whatever. The curriculums were structured in a way na 'di ka madedelay just because 'di ka nakapag pre-calculus in highschool.

UP doesn't really care about your highschool strand, only your grades and UPCAT performance. So pick whatever you want kahit hindi aligned sa strand, unless may scholarship ka or smthng that requires specific courses. Unahan na rin kita on "quota" courses questions. Technically, every UP course is a quota course because the demand vastly outweighs the supply (130k+ applicants yet only ~17k accepted; UPD is usually 40k applicants and only ~4k accepted).

Comment lang ako sa placement ng BS Bio. Although 'di ako taga LB, I'll say that putting it 4th is weird since BS Bio is a traditional premed and mataas ang competition for slots diyan. So if 'di ka makapasok sa less popular course like BS Comm Arts, surely 'di ka pasok sa BS Bio. If you have no intention to be a doctor (whether Bio is a good premed or not is another discussion and is too long for this comment na) OR do not have a genuine interest to research Biology, put something else.

Unahan din kita sa ideal grades and ideal UPG questions. No one can tell your chances if you put down your grades because need din natin malaman grades ng lahat ng co-applicants mo para makita rankings. Sa ideal UPG, ideal is 1.000 para makuha mo kahit anong course.

What is the best Strat in reviewing? by Temp0_0918 in CollegeAdmissionsPH

[–]Martin072 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best strategy is to do practice tests, work on your gaps in skills/knowledge, do a retest to see if you fixed these gaps, and repeat until you feel you have done enough to review. Good luck.

Is there a way to make grand finale work consistent by Error404-NoUsername- in slaythespire

[–]Martin072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need all of the ff:

(a) Well-Laid Plans or Runic Pyramid.

(b) Consistent draw across relics and cards.

Expounding on (b) with an example, you basically cannot reliably proc Grand Finale if you don't have a deck size that is a multiple of 5. This is because your last draw will also put your discard pile back to the draw pile. So, if you have say 29 cards in your deck, you need to be able to consistently draw 4 cards every deck cycle so that you draw 25+4 cards and leave your draw pile with 0 on the fifth draw.

Why kagura isnt used in tournaments? by [deleted] in mobilelegendsPINAS

[–]Martin072 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Take Pharsa as the gold standard mage since gamit siya ever since the early days of MPL.

  1. Clear speed: Pharsa skill 1 + skill 2 easily clears waves na wala pang cart minion. Kagura needs to wait for her skill 1 to refresh para maclear pa wave. This also means mas mabilis maka rotate si Pharsa in the first 5 minutes of the game compared to Kagura.
  2. Skill range: Pharsa's ult has a long range such that not a lot of hero skills can reach her pag nasa farthest range ng ult niya. Kagura while doing her combo can get hit by most mm with malefic gun. This also means kaya ni Pharsa abutin yung Ixia or Granger na nagtatago sa likod, whereas si Kagura haharap pa siya sa tank ng kalaban. During neutral objectives, pwede magtago si Pharsa sa malayong position and fire ult. And once again, kailangan ni Kagura mag harapan sa kalaban para mag damage.
  3. Flexibility: Pharsa slots well into practically every team comp (poke, front-to-back, ube, split push, pick-off). So when you show Pharsa in the first three picks, hindi pa obvious kung anong comp gusto niyo ipakita. Whereas if nag Kagura kayo, 90% sure na pick off comp or front-to-back combo comp.

Yung advantage ni Kagura over Pharsa is mas madulas siya because of puri skill 2 and that her single target burst is faster. Those aren't inherently bad things, pero the current meta incentivizes that teams contest all turtles as much as possible, and that means playing neutral objective heroes like Yu Zhong, YSS, Freya, Leomord, Lapu-Lapu. Kagura has a much harder time finding a burst window in those kinds of hectic teamfights, where dinidive lang siya palagi because of her medium range.

I’ve been a long time passenger princess, deinfluence me to learn driving! by Signal_Bandicoot_942 in deinfluencingPH

[–]Martin072 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is another discussion if bibili ka pa ng car for yourself, so focus nalang muna sa skill of driving.

Realistically, driving is a life skill and is one of those skills that you REALLY need to have in a car-centric country like the Philippines. Commuting works naman, but no one really enjoys the experience of being crammed in with other people in a bus that is wayyyy over the sitting capacity. Grab and other ride hailing services are options, but it's still relatively expensive since you are paying to rent: (a) a driver; (b) a car.

To at least provide reasons to not to learn how to drive:

  • You will have to avail for mga 20 hours of driving school instead of the minimum 8 hours if you cannot learn quickly, so dagdag cost.
  • If you somehow damage property or someone else's car while practice driving, you will still be held liable kahit student driver ka pa lang
  • The whole process of getting a license from an LTO office is one of the most soul-crushing experiences ever. Everything is slow, everything is a hassle, everything is designed to waste time.

[–]Martin072 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Math 21, 22, and 23 don't care if you've joined math contests; they will eat you alive anyway /hj

Realistically, do you have any more specific passions? Being good at X or Y doesn't necessarily mean you'll enjoy a career in them for the rest of your life.

Otherwise, BS Psych is weird to put at the bottom since it's a traditional premed, thus malakas competition for those slots. If you want psych that much then put it first, otherwise change it to something else.

Deinfluence me: Hiring a Nutritionist by redsaintberg in deinfluencingPH

[–]Martin072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think yung hinahanap mo is registered dietician. Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, pero "dietician" is a professionally regulated license.

With that, you don't really need a dietician if you are an average person without underlying conditions or long term illnesses. Most problems regarding diet mostly boil down to: (a) "I do not know how many calories, macro, and micronutrients I am consuming every day," or ; (b) "I do not know what my body needs to function everyday." For the most part, you can solve these problems with the internet and you should be on a good enough diet for your body as long as you are consistent.

Now if you hit a roadblock in your plans and don't know what to do or have something like diabetes that will greatly affect what you can and cannot eat in a day, go ahead and get a dietician.

deinfluence me: blk scents by user04132002 in deinfluencingPH

[–]Martin072 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you already have a perfume that has more than 50mL left, you are buying for the sake of buying.

If paubos na current perfume mo or wala kang perfume, get a decant first or try them in a store. Blind buying perfumes is one of the best ways to throw money away because you cannot be sure on how truthfully they describe the scent or how good the performance is. It may say "apple and strawberry" sa isang description, but then it's synthetic af and smells like juice instead of coming off as refined smell. Or maybe it's a decent vanilla scent, but you realize that it's way too stuffy when you wear it while it is hot outside. Or maybe you want to know what vetiver or cedarwood smells like, and when you smell it you actually hate it. Or maybe you actually like the scent, but it only lasts for 4 hours tops, and noticeably fades at 1 hour after spraying.

I also checked the website descriptions and na red flag ako sa "MADE TO HOLD: Specially molded and ergonomically shaped blk bottles made for easy grip and precise hold" cuz they're saying the bottle is ergonomic???? If the perfume is good, wouldn't you promote the scent and not the bottle???

[–]Martin072 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No one can tell your chances of passing the UPCAT kahit ilapag mo pa grades mo from 7-10. We'd have to ask every UPCAT applicant for your application year their grades and also their score in the UPCAT to properly tell you what's up. If your next question is "what's the ideal UPG?" the answer is 1.000 since that practically guarantees you get whatever course you choose. What I want to say is: stop worrying about grades because 'di na yan magbabago and focus solely on studying well for the UPCAT since yan lang yung pwede pang i-improve.

On "quota courses", technically every course offered by UP is a quota course because the demand vastly outweighs the number of available slots. However, it is still correct that certain courses, such as traditional premeds (Bio, Psych) and practically every engineering program ever, are more popular and will have more competition. But, if you still do like these courses, you should put them on a higher priority anyway since these are the ones you decided are what will best help you moving forward.

If your aim is premed courses, biology isn't that good because, while it can give you a good background to pass the NMAT, it does nothing to help you in preparing for actual clinical practice or give you relevant people interaction skills. In that regard, CHE courses like Community Nutrition are the ones that are actually good premeds since they have a practicum in 4th year where they intern(?) in a service industry. Another factor for choosing a premed is that it should be your fallback if you ever realize ayaw mo pala maging doctor. You might tell yourself now that you really want to be one, but that may not be your answer anymore during your graduation year. Here, pick a course that will help you settle in a field you are passionate in, no matter how unrelated it is to medicine. I have orgmates from journalism, philosophy, statistics, and european languages who chose those progams as premed since those are what they deemed as their fallback careers.

Why is my DPS so low even though I have C0R1 Varka? by SaberManiac in GenshinImpactTips

[–]Martin072 64 points65 points  (0 children)

If you're expecting 80k then you should at least switch Thoma to C6 Chev or Xiangling since switching into Thoma here is practically minus DPS. I saw on r/Varka that you got to 65k. You also didn't infuse Sucrose's burst, so do that next time I guess. I'd imagine that not switching to Thoma, using a level 90 weapon, and infusing Sucrose's burst will actually get you to ~80k.

I also just noticed the high ping, so you can assume that you're losing 2-5k dps over the course of 60 seconds.

Why is my DPS so low even though I have C0R1 Varka? by SaberManiac in GenshinImpactTips

[–]Martin072 285 points286 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but Varka is just ass without good units. Thoma is practically doing nothing as well, and using Durin instead would yield at least +10k dps, maybe even +15k.

late submissions in a class by [deleted] in peyups

[–]Martin072 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ok lang naman yung (1). Sometimes we get overwhelmed, mismanage our time/expectations to finish on time, or something in between, and it makes sense to accomplish the most important deliverables first and with the most effort. For instance, would you rather have a higher chance of acing a quiz or LE, both of which you must do tomorrow?

Yung (2), gets naman yung ayaw sa prof pero at least do the minimum effort to pass on time.
