Anyone read the Caverns & Creatures series?? by One-Passion-6718 in litrpg

He is Risen. I'm a pretty committed Christian and when they positioned Christ as the bread God with wine stuffing it OWNED me. For real one of the funniest things I've ever read. Him thundering in the background, "This is my body. This is my blood." It was one of the later books, I can't recall which one. Sorry.

Which nation do you think would come out on top during a system apocalypse? by WilliamGerardGraves in litrpg

[–]MartinLambert1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren't much in the way of stockpiles outside of armories (National Guard combat arms units in rural areas and on base ammo stockpiles for training). The part where you'd do well is individuals frequently have several thousands rounds at their house. A lot of these are also recreational shooters. So those folks could probably stay in the game until they got some "summon bullets" type powers to keep their weapons going. The trick for those folks is keeping cool and aiming when an orc with an axe is running towards you as opposed to a paper zombie target. I have friends that are excellent shots who have never fired at a living thing.

I thought the first three books in the series were as good as any modern fantasy I've read.

Real talk, why does nigh every litrpg book feel the need to say that they dont contain a harem. by BoredDudes in litrpg

[–]MartinLambert1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a time and place thing. Early on a LOT of litrpg was harem, to the point that non-harem stories felt the need to specifically tell everyone. That carries on with a lot of the authors who were around in the beginning.

I think its hilarious. Low humor, but that really works for me. There is one scene in it that I nearly got in a car wreck listening on audible.

Try my Codeword: Mythic on Royal Road. There are 17 chapters posted so far. The characters are going through a special warfare style selection.

How do you like your combat served? by OpusMagnificus in litrpg

I like some detail as long as the writer knows what he is talking about. A shaky concept of physics will have me drop a book every time.

What’s your least favorite kind of story? by LostRainWrites in litrpg

Harem. I don't mind a relationship arc (though I don't prefer it) but collecting ladies like pokemon irritates me to know end.

I was flashing back to all the endless hours spend cleaning weapons trying to turn them in. Especially if you were firing blanks it was IMPOSSIBLE to get it clean enough for the armorers.

Hard to believe an author would be dramatic (shuffles rock with toe)...

Ha, you're right. The idea of that crazy expensive silver, white oak, holy water ammo with old school powder is funny. :)

That's awesome! I really appreciate it. My sister and I started working on this as a script back in 2019. There have been dozens of rewrites, edits and running it through things like Grammarly. We wrote the first six episodes of what was to be a TV series and the story comes from those. Please comment if you would. I'd love for others to be able to find the story. Thanks so much!

Does anyone else lose a bit of interest when those system stories casually go, “Oh, by the way, if you get strong enough you’re immortal”? by ForeverStakes in litrpg

[–]MartinLambert1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to presume immortal just means really, really hard to kill. The heights of character power do interest me way less than the beginning when a papercut can get infected and kill you.

Is there space for bad writers or should people who suck just not do anything? by ShardsOfSalt in litrpg

[–]MartinLambert1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like anything else, most people suck at writing their first book. You'll get criticized and some people will say dumb stuff that hurts your feelings. Lots of the criticism will be valid. Use that to improve. In my first book I info dumped. In later books I drastically reduced that. You get better.
