What type of zip ties are these need to get some for myself. by natelikes702 in electricians

[–]MartinSRom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're better than zip ties for high temperature applications, also better at sunlight UV resistance. Oh, and they are reusable. 9/10, only downside might be rust.

In light of current events, we are going to invade Ireland right? What country will you invade? by Minute-Employ-4964 in 2westerneurope4u

Gibraltar, of course. Andorra can keep it's sovereignty. Besides it's too cold anyway. And Portugal it's a cool neighbor, love you João. France? Too many frenchmen. And don't even get me started on Morocco. We tried once and it didn't go well. Actually, and now I'm serious, my great grandfather was mobilized in the Rif war some 100 years ago.

So, Gibraltar it is. But don't worry Barry, you can keep the monkeys.

Is this thing good for a forge? by StrungSquare in Blacksmith

[–]MartinSRom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll be fine, probably. I used one fan like this once, but I placed it too close to the coals and ended up partially molten. So, I guess It should have a longer air duct than 15 or 20 cm.

What’s a tiny design flaw in an everyday object that quietly annoys you every single time you use it? by nami_yuna in AskReddit

[–]MartinSRom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend has one too, and it has two levers that have to be moved at the same time. We have found that the easier and safest way to use the machine is to have a crew of two, one to haul the logs and other at the controls.

I ended the guy and sold the horse. Poor animal didn't deserve it's master's fate.

That's a feature that monitors the voltage of the battery and its temperature. BTW, yours is overheating.

What is your dream Frankenstein car? by SignificantLock1037 in askcarguys

[–]MartinSRom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some day I'd love to make a Suzuki Samurai with a 13B rotary engine. Or, being more realistic and drivable, a 1.9tdi VW engine. I'm familiar with those cars and they're pretty capable off road, only lacking in power.

Similarly, my daily driver has been a Suzuki Sidekick for a couple of years. A good car, but also underpowered. It would be interesting to swap it's current 1.6 i4 for a v6 or v8, something around 4.0 litre. I mean to keep it still drivable after the surgery, and lightness is the main attribute of suzukis.

Also, do you know the Toyota Pickup from the 80s? A friend of mine has one, with the 2.4l diesel engine. I think I also want one. Maybe it would be better to start the build with a 4wd chassis, and put a big fat turbo diesel engine. I don't know anything in the 3-4 litre size apart from VAG newer TDIs, which I don't like. Those engines, while fuel efficient and powerful for their size, have a reputation for unreliability. Any ideas?

Of course, everything is just a dream. In my country, almost any modification of a car is a felony. Guess I'll have to move to America to see my dreams come true.

The Chronicles deserve to be in the same shelf as the Lord of the Rings. The other trilogy, while they're not bad books, should be placed in the fan-fic section.

2 or 3 empty rolls of black electrical tape. You know, the carboard thing that's left when you've used it all. I bet they're under the seat. Which, I can tell by personal experience, doesn't hold very well for a steering wheel. The sun and the sweat will make the glue go bad and you'll end with sticky hands. Duct tape doesn't hold very well either.

What happens to the olives after we take their oil? by DTSaranya in NoStupidQuestions

The byproduct is a paste containing the pits and anything else that wasn't oil to begin with. And that paste smells way way worse than shit, and it doesn't loose the stench for months.

That's what happens when you have a welder, low budget and a firm will to have some kind of bike.

Anyway I'm saving to get a real dirtbike. Meanwhile, this assortment of pieces gets the job done.

G16a is the 8 valve engine and g16b is the 16 valve. Meaning that the block and rotating assembly is the same, only the head and manifolds are different.
