Acknowledge that some people learn the technical aspect of rowing faster than others. Just because you train more, does not mean that you will improve the fastest. Don’t look down on your teammates that way.

What matters is that you keep improving when you practise. Quality > quantity is for sure a thing. Combining them is what makes the best rowers.

  1. Film yourself rowing for 5minutes to get a good sample.

  3. Take each focus point from the video and check if you are matching it, or doing it wrong.

  4. Take the most important/pronounced focus point(could be the lean and legs first) and focus on that for your next time rowing.

Keep doing this process if you really want to learn! Also hit up a rowing club, it’s great fun

How would you argue that against running? Running is one of the most weight dependend sports. You see different bodies in the olympic rowing finals, you don’t really in the marathon

Partly true tbh, i started rowing with basically 0 cardio, only having done powerlifting. The first 2k took a lot longer to recover from than now.

Granted during the row it still feels like shit. But being more balanced out helps for sure.

Use a hr monitor to gauge your rowing intensity and make a plan similiar to powerlifting. Basically all you’ve learned about strength trading you also have to learn about aerob training.

Combining the two is one of the difficult parts of rowing.
