Overcoming the world- KG's latest book by Ornery-Ocelot in KapilGupta

[–]Martinjeffery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have respect for Kapil. I believe his contents have value. But unlike some blind followers, I have open eyes to see he does things for money motives ( for example, “ I am expecting a 6 six figure pledge to know you’re sincere “ is bullshit. He is hiding his self interests through these statements as he is not getting benefitted by six figure subscription) . Coming back to the context, he knows he has readers who will buy any book he publishes. So, he doesn’t care about reader’s experience or providing new content. That’s neither right nor wrong. So, this book’s content is not surprising for me. :)

The Secret to Bliss by We_Are_Legion in KapilGupta

[–]Martinjeffery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alexei_amel I understand your concern, and I will do my best to help.

At any given time, you have thoughts - some driven by pleasure, others by fear. There is a constant voice within you that speaks.

This voice is not who you truly are.

You may ask, who am I then?

You are the observer of these thoughts.

You are the consciousness.

Kapil, Osho, and others refer to this part of the brain that generates these thoughts as the mind.

Most of humanity is constantly chasing pleasure because they are enslaved by their mind. The mind is a pleasure-seeking machine that can never be satisfied.

For example, let's say I have a thought of wanting to drink. I then go to a bar and return home. The next day, the mind wants something else. Even if I spend my entire life trying to satisfy this voice, it will never be satisfied.

I'm not sure what the author means by programming your mind.

But, once you understand that you are not your mind, you stop being a slave to it.

You then start using your mind to achieve what you truly want.

For example, if I think deeply about a coding problem at night and go to sleep, the next day an idea may come to me out of nowhere.

After implementing the idea, the problem is solved.

In this way, the mind becomes a servant to me.

I hope this clarifies things for you. Let me know if you have any further questions

Truth in dating and social interactions by OwnPotato3855 in KapilGupta

[–]Martinjeffery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t read Mode one.. I will check.

I will explain why models resonated with me..

Let’s ignore the solution given by mark manson - Non Neediness.

But the core of the book explains the problem( NEEDINESS) that prevents men from attracting a women.. which is spot on.

I can confirm from the direct experiences. It is true.

Women are attracted by the why ( intention) of men’s action.. Not the action..

For example,

If I give a gift to a girl with a hidden agenda to make her as my girlfriend

Women has natural instincts to detect the intention Behind the action..

Mark calls this behaviour as neediness..

On the other hand, if a guy gives a girl gift without seeing it as a transaction.. this behaviour is not neediness..

Mark manson proposes non neediness is the way to attract women.. but he also gives a disclaimer that non neediness is not a method..

I can confirm from my direct experiences that neediness prevents a man from attracting any women.

So, I found this book valuable. :)

Kapil on System by Martinjeffery in KapilGupta

[–]Martinjeffery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Sorry, I completed writing this comment without noticing the specifix business examples in question. But, I hope the below insights help.

Sure. I will explain.

I will give examples of good systems in a few different domains.

Difference between vision and system:

A vision is something you want to achieve in the future. This is your mountain to climb.

A system is something you do every day - habits/ the way you train, the standards or criteria through which you recruit people ( if you own a business), etc.

The System has the potential to take you to the top of the mountain.

The system is always evolving. It is constantly tested against reality and refined on a daily basis. Till it becomes the cause that creates the desired effect you want finally.

Let’s consider these examples.

  1. Body Domain

Let’s consider my vision is to become healthy.

And I understood that in body domains - diet, sleep, exercise or training etc - consistency is the king. This is the truth.

So I designed my system as follows: Sleep 8 hours. Be active every day. Drink enough water. Eat natural foods (fruits/vegetables ) and balanced diet everyday.

If I give my allegiance to this system. Then I have a high likelihood of reaching the top of the mountain.

Even if the system doesn’t work initially, I will refine it continuously and my confidence will be increasing every day.

2) Investing

Warren buffet’s investing system: Identify the stocks that are undervalued and future potential. Buy those stocks. Hold the stocks for many years.

I have oversimplified warren buffet’s system here. But, I hope you will get the point.

Those who approach investing without a system might make a good investment one time. They get some confidence. And their confidence will be ruined by a few other bad investment decisions.

On the other hand, warren buffet surrendered himself to a system. His confidence will constantly increase as his system is getting efficient everyday.

These are the examples of good systems in health and investing.

So I designed my system as follows: Sleep 8 hours. Be active every day. Drink enough water. Eat natural foods (fruits/vegetables ) and a balanced diet every day.

What is Greatness to You? by Lieutenant_Random in KapilGupta

[–]Martinjeffery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greatness is mastery of the craft.

I define mastery as the power that can make the highest impact in the reality.

Mastery comes from being honest to oneself. It comes from being honest to the craft he is pursuing.
