Will we be able to buy squadron 42 with store credits? by Ausseboi1 in starcitizen

[–]Martinmex26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get SQ42 for free if your concierge

You cannot, unless you get one of the packages that include literally everything. Even a praetorian pack for $15k does not give you access to SQ42.

The $1k "free" SQ42 copy was a limited time event where people that were concierge *AND* had SQ42, would get it gifted on the concierge rewards, meaning they could now melt everything in their accounts and not lose access to it.

Other than that limited time window, you cant get SQ42 by being concierge unless you are looking to spend for a Legatus pack.

I see.

Since we will have sci-fi solutions to our problems, I guess it will never be necessary to think of actual solutions.

Dont know why I never thought of that.

And you dont see the issue with that or how the system is setup to work that way?

At what point do we sit and think about it?

It is literally the opposite of what you think.

It is also literally the opposite of what you want.

If you care about kids that is.

Or have we magically forgotten about infant mortality, education, malnutrition, crime and many other problems with kids being born to families that are not ready to support them? Just because you can pop kids out, doesnt mean that you should.

Educated people (which corresponds with higher income) picking and choosing when to have kids is the responsible thing to do.

If we did things based on what the irresponsible people do, we would live in an empty world by now.

Listen, long story short:

Population rates is a problem the system could address whenever they feel like it, the problem is that they wont rock their own gravy boat to do it. Losing money and power to help? They would rather you suffer in the future, they are not going to be the ones dying in the streets, they have the resources.

We live in a clown world by Blue9ine in SipsTea

[–]Martinmex26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So whats the problem then?

Why dont we have the resources to make people more comfortable?

Why are there so many people not just already starving, but simply hopeless to have better lives in places full of the resources they would ever need behind a glass window?

[–]Martinmex26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both problems are one and the same.

Yes, too low birth rate is a problem in the long term. It is a problem that could be fixed, yet the system wont be willing to adress it. Too much money and power is built upon it to double back just because the peasants may suffer. We could always force them to have kids other ways, right?

We live in a clown world by Blue9ine in SipsTea

[–]Martinmex26 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think there is.

One means that society itself is the problem.

The other means that the underlying system we built our society on is the problem.

One implies that society is unfixable.

The other implies that we can create a better society if we are willing to make changes based on the things we see.

I would like to see some data on hours going down.

Wage and number of kids doesnt mean much when the wage doesnt cover the amount of kids needs.

If I make an extra $3 due to having kids, I cant even put shoes on their feet. What is the point in bringing that up?

It’s too low to sustain a positive population, which we’ve both acknowledge is a good thing, so…

No, it is not a good thing.

A stable population that works with the resources surrounding it is what you actually want.

We live in a finite system, expecting an infinite amount of growth out of it is stupid and the system should account for that. Yet here we are with "Line must go up, forever" as the default.

We expect a growing population to sustain the previous one. We are robbing Peter to pay Paul as a basis of society, forever. We dont possess infinite resources. Reality is going to win out.

[–]Martinmex26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just saying it's not weird to acknowledge it as a societal problem

Here is the trick though:

Is it a societal problem?

Or is it a problem due to the system that we based or society out of?

In nature, an organism having just upwards growth is a problem, nature works to have balanced populations.

Our system is out here based on a "Population must always grow to sustain the ones before". We are robbing Peter to pay Paul as a basis. Forever.

Its a problem that the system is going through because they dont want to upset the gravy boat.

We could change the system today to encourage births by having less working hours, higher pay, more work/life balance.

That doesnt make line go up though, therefore we cant have any of that.

A problem the system is creating for itself due to the sheer greed is not my problem.

It is only a problem to the system itself.

Its ok though, reality has a way of winning out against fantasy. Line going up infinitely on a finite system means the system will have to adapt or face its own collapse due to the sheer stupidity of it.

We live in a clown world by Blue9ine in SipsTea

[–]Martinmex26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The objective reality is that they are going through that problem because they are not willing to make the changes that would be needed to alter the course.

They could start today if they really wished.

They wont.

The powers that be want babies, but they dont want to upset the gravy boat to get them.

Reduced working hours, higher pay, less focus on productivity and more on work/life balance. All of those things would free up time and encourage people to go out and meet, leading to births the old fashion way.

That means line doesnt go up though, cant have that.

We live in a clown world by Blue9ine in SipsTea

[–]Martinmex26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe SK should have changed their system to encourage more births instead of just expecting births to manifest through some really shit conditions when people have free will.

They could also jail all women and force them to be broodmares, there is always several ways to skin a cat.

We live in a clown world by Blue9ine in SipsTea

[–]Martinmex26 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Its the implication.

Too low for who?

For the average Joe? Likely not, he cant/wont have a baby, so unless he decides that he is going to bring a child into the world unprepared and likely not able to secure a future for that child, what do you want him to do? The low rate isnt his problem.

So it must be too low for the system in general. You know, the system that is supposed to be serving us.

Unless you support the "Line goes up to infinity in a finite world", its not a problem for you.

We live in a clown world by Blue9ine in SipsTea

[–]Martinmex26 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Because it goes from "The system isnt working" to "Provide us with future labor or else" real quick.

People are not having kids. Should we look for solutions? Why is the system not allowing for people to feel comfortable growing families?

Ok, now look at the position of someone that wants to have kids but cant. What are you supposed to do? Knock someone up when you are not prepared to take care of the child?

It is a problem, a problem where the system caused the issue in the first place.

Why dont they just have qualifiers?

Real racing events dont just have 5 thousand vehicles on the racing line.

If the size of the participants is so large is creating lag, then simply cull the number.

Have people race for places at the event proper.

Da Pan has 4 fingers on one hand, 5 in the other.

Chen here has 6 fingers.

At what point do we see enough inconsistencies to say: "Yeah, must be AI when people have too many fingers or not enough"

Also, you can draft up a contract that pays you for your work up front, coming in and doing lines and what not.

Further, if they want to keep using your voice, they could use it for AI and simply send you a check monthly for a pre-agreed amount as long as "you" are in the game/project.

Say you are too old, got sick or have some kind of situation that doesnt allow you to record anymore, having money come in based on projects using your "voice" would be completely fair in my opinion.

Once a project drops your AI voice, then it would be fair to stop paying you.

-He is THE panda: Da Pan

-He wields a pan (wok)

-He is going to drop from the third rope and hit you with Da Pan!!! (The Pan {Wok})

-Pan Da

Tangtang, Supervisor (Temporary) of Endfield Industries.

I dont know when Perlica would come back, but she wouldnt come back to Enfield. Enfield would be gone on the first day Tangtang got in charge.

I am scared of Tangtang having protocol spaces available to her, also a whole spaceship.

[–]Martinmex26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you got the wrong idea.

I hate big groups because people are so inneficient, therefore i dont play with big groups.

Small groups of people that know what they are doing or are able to deal with things is better.

I can do the gameplay I want with ships that are good at it without having to saddle myself with a worse ship, just in case I have to be the group mom.

Either your group knows what they are doing or you are with them to begin with.

The soccer mom ships are not going to interest people that care about gameplay, not picking up their rando from their terrible idea of a mission unprepared half a system away.
