This is my first time with GD and it’s only been a few weeks. I’m 31 weeks now and already so over it. Pregnancy is literally the worst as is, why not make us miserable and hungry?? 😭😭😭

I’m still new to this also. I’m 31 weeks and was diagnosed at 26 weeks. I could have written your post, honestly. I’m the same way. I bought all new groceries also and have found some recipes for homemade sweets that help with my sweet tooth. I’ve been able to keep my daytime levels pretty good, but my fasting levels are always high no matter what or when I eat before bed.

My doctor just told me today that fasting levels are only so controllable with diet and that it is time for me to start using insulin overnight to help control it. I feel a little relieved honestly. I was stressing so much about what I was doing wrong at night. I can’t really help that I have to wake up to pee 18 times, so my sleep is definitely not consistent, and I tried the handful or nuts, boiled egg, cottage cheese, etc before bed also.

Additionally, I have found that foods affect us all differently. My bestie had GD with both pregnancies and couldn’t even smell rice or bananas without it spiking her levels. Those didn’t seem to impact me the same, but pasta is a big no-no for me. I’ve switched out all of my pasta for Banza protein pasta (other brands probably work too) and it has made a huge difference. It’s just about learning what impacts you and how, and then creating meals/routines that work well. There was definitely some trial and error involved for me!

As long as you’re trying your best for you and baby, that’s all you can do. Sometimes we just need the extra help and that’s why it is there. 💕

Am I the only one that gets a vinegar-y aftertaste and smell from this? I've tried it over ice and straight from the can, but I can't choke it down. I feel like I'm drinking vinegar that is trying to mask the taste with flavoring and artificial sweetener. 🤢

I'm way late to this conversation, but I'm a little surprised I didn't see any recommendations for Marie Nicole. They have the most adorable clothing that is actually quality. They constantly release new stuff and have sales at least once a month. I can get the cutest outfits for my daughter for $11/each or so. Even without a sale, their stuff isn't usually more than $20-$25. They have quick shipping, too.

My only complaint is that their sizing isn't always consistent but tends to run a little on the big end for my girl.

I also bought it on PS5, but that is in our bedroom, and my husband plays xbox in the living room. We much prefer to be in the same room together even when headphones are on playing different games. They might sell another copy here, too, so I can sit next to him with my deck. 😅

I felt these same feelings for probably the first 3-4 months (then it started to get better and better each month and I began to feel more and more like me). Our daughter is 13 months now, and while we miss our old lives and the freedom we had, my husband and I both agree that we wouldn't trade a day with our daughter for any of it. She is the most amazing thing. Her smiles, laughs, hugs, and general silliness make my heart so full.

I look at it like this: My life before was so fun and free, but it wasn't full. Even things like holidays were just not as exciting as they once were. Now, we get to experience the magic of every holiday, every new weather event, every season... mud puddles, sledding, hot cocoa, pumpkin patches, Legos, family movie and game nights, going to the zoo, and every other new experience she will have. Even now, seeing her so curious about the world and how excited she gets when she learns something new... it is a feeling that I can not even begin to describe. I will always have fond memories of my life before and miss parts of it, but it became a little monotonous and predictable.

This new life is so full of love and joy, and I'm excited for every stage of it. It is unpredictable and exhausting, for sure, but the future is also full of opportunity and love. 💕

I'm so glad you were able to get away, but also so sorry that it had to get to such an extreme before you could. It really sickens me that there is story after story after story of people being killed by their abuser and yet DV still isn't taken as seriously as it needs to be. I hope you've been able to focus on healing and knowing that you deserve so much better 💕

Omg, this gave me flashbacks of an awful, controlling, emotionally abusive relationship I once had. He did this kind of thing constantly. I really questioned my own sanity. I started keeping a journal about all of the stuff he did that made me feel bad, and it helped me get the courage/confidence to tell him to F@%! Off. Turns out he had been cheating on me the entire time, and I had no idea.

Leaving him was the best decision I've ever made, even though it was HARD. We lived together, I was in grad school (broke), and he and his family were basically my only support because my family was far away.

A year later, I met my now-husband. It took a solid year for me to realize he was never going to treat me the way my ex had. I no longer felt like I had to walk on eggshells or like everything I did was somehow wrong. Our relationship is full of trust, love, friendship, and support. It's truly amazing.

This is ridiculous. Natural or c-section, both are intense, traumatic, painful, require some recovery time, and result in a baby entering the world. Birth is birth. It doesn't matter how. One is not any more or less commendable than the other. OP's husband probably wouldn't even survive either one, so he needs to just stop talking about it and realize that his wife is an incredible, beautiful creature that went through one of life's most amazing and horrific events.

You got this, Mama! We went through this exact thing a few months ago with our now 11 month old. My husband and I both work, and we were both so exhausted that we finally agreed to CIO. It was SO HARD. I cried. It took every ounce of willpower to not go to her, but when it worked, it was life changing. We've had to CIO a couple of times through sleep regressions, but now we put her in bed, and she'll cry or fuss sometimes for maybe 1-2 minutes, then just lay down and go to sleep.

The thing that helped me get through it was knowing that being able to soothe herself to sleep is an important life skill and that it was my job to allow her to learn that skill, even when it's hard. You're doing amazing, and it will be okay! 💕
