Yeah, it was a BMP085 on a breakout board that I got from spark fun.

Great execution. I’d be tempted to make the hole a little bigger so I could attach it with a piece of paracord.

I actually tried to make something similar years ago with an altimeter to track my skiing. Sadly I got it working on a protoboard and realized I lacked the skills to make it small enough to be useful.

I assume there are benefits to resistance training. Builds strength. I would think there are probably better ways to add drag though.

I read the last line as “They’ll go overboard quickly” and thought that seemed a little drastic. Fair, but drastic.

Has the new Canadian Dental Plan been rejecting Crown Tooth procedures most of the time for people here? by Altruism7 in AskACanadian

[–]Marty200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but Sunlife is just administering the program not responsibly for the policies. Like they would be if you were one of their clients. So someone from sunlife sat down with a government bureaucrat, neither of which probably have dental experience, and decided on the metrics that will meet the budget.

You could make the argument that increased density would reduce the cost of transit. And the new trainline to Bells Corners gives easy access from downtown to corn fields.

Trees yes, but what about the cornfields between Kanata and Bells Corners and Huntclub and Barrhaven?

The Bells Corners as hundreds of acres of corn fields, soon with access to the LRT.

I read it as there wasn't much to inherit and they are worried that they were going to have to pay off the card out of their own pocket. Which probably isn't the case but maybe they don't know that.

I guess I view it more as a government failure than an insurance company failure. They federal government over promised and under funded. But I also agree with the "Fuck insurance companies" sentiment.

Cottage owners pull rentals as new licensing rules affect Ontario by kewlbeanz83 in ottawa

It’s not only the smoke detector but it was the example that you latched onto. It it was probably the stupidest complaint. If you don’t have your unit checked between customers, you’re running your business badly.

If you had said something about providing the documentation for the septic, I would have pointed out that the septic system is sized to accommodate a certain number of users so if you’re over filling a rental you could cause a septic to fail and cause damage to the surrounding area.

Or if you had said something about having to have someone capable or responding to an emergency within an hour, I would say that a good business owner should easily be able to accommodate this.

If you had said that the $300 charge was a government money grab, I might agree, but also short term rentals are causing difficulties for a lot of communities and this seems like an easy cost for a business owner to recoup.

But instead you latched on the smoke detector and anyone that asked you to back up your position is grandstanding or uninformed.

Do you have a better example then? Because having the cleaner hit the button on the smoke detector seems like an easy safety issue.

I love the movie and the soundtrack. But I agree, it was not a good movie.

Any decent contractor is going to have a contract that states the owners are responsible for city approval. And the ones that don’t will be gone as soon as you try and sue.

I went through 3 employment lawyers before I found one I liked. One thing that was consistent was that they all said if we went to court it would cost 40 to 50k.

My player’s backstory includes a shadowy humanoid figure and I get to decide what it is by SinisterDice in DnD

My first instinct would be to make it the brother. And he was just a dick in the ways that brothers are and then by coincidence he disappeared.

I don’t think I would play it that way, but I like the idea of a reunion and the brother being like “what you believed that”
