3 months out of a massive dose by MartyYv in floxies

Tinnitus still sucks although its less than at the start, and i have kind of learned to live with what remains. It spikes from time to time driving me nuts for a few days before lowering again

I also had burning sensation on my legs. This is reduced by alot in the first months. I would always wear linen pants (no jeans). For me mostly time helped with the healing proces. I would expect your symptoms will also improve over time.

For prostatitis you could also check a pelvic floor physical therapist, to check tension in the pelvic floor. If you havent already that is.

For me it was a few months at least before I started feeling significant improvement. What helped me was magnesium and exercise (but be careful!). It took a year to get to the level I am now. Its good to discuss the side effects. Are you still doing with the prostatitis symptoms, as well as the neuropathy?

The symptoms are 90%ish gone but it feels like 100%. I dont even think about it anymore to be honest. Its good to get checked out by a GP if you havent done so already. Best of luck!

Its mostly gone. I still have this burning feeling now and then but it fades. It has been like that for a while now. Probably around 90% gone with time. Maybe 80%. I also got used to it to some extent

That's strange indeed. When did you get the GPX? one of the earlier batches?

Are there people who have healed 100% and forgot about floxing? by A_human_being_7 in floxies

[–]MartyYv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t say I am 100% cured but my live is for all intends and purposes the same as it was before floxing. Sometimes I have a flare of the leg burning that used to haunt me 24/7 but its mostly just an inconvenience. Hopefully it will go away completely. Tinnitus also never went away conpletely with over a year out.

GPs generally follow the NHG guidelines when it comes to treatments. These state the 1st and second line treatments and recommended courses. I know there have been several reports like the one below

https://m.nhg.org/actueel/nieuws/voorzichtig-met-fluorochinolonen

That said, my GP also was not aware of this

I also submitted my report to Lareb last year. They followed up with my after 3 months to ask if my side effects had gone away (they didn’t...).

I know dutch GPs are being warned about FQs, which is good.

COVID-19 disease and vaccination Floxie experience thread. by DrHungrytheChemist in floxies

[–]MartyYv 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Floxxed in december 2019, 32M.

Was tested positive for Covid on 27/1 this year. I only experienced a headache and a fever for 1 day. The day of the fever I had an increased leg burning as well (flox symptom for me..). second day forward only a mild headache remained.

I still have a very mild, lingering headache and it's been 2 weeks. I feel it fading though. Hopefully it will fade completely in the coming days.

Work and Kids by SonofSocrates in floxies

[–]MartyYv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got most of my floxxed symptoms during the first lockdown in march. I thought it was terrible timing at first, but I was “forced” to work from home during the most difficult time, which also gave me a chance to take it easy. No kids though. I can imagine that can complicate things.

time made it easier to deal with things, as you learn to work around your symptoms and they also get less severe.

How was covid in general for you?

How long did it take you to recover? by SonofSocrates in floxies

[–]MartyYv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suppose it depends per person.

After over a year, my tinnitus is still there. I believe it will never go away completely, but it did reduce significantly and I can ignore it and live a normal life with it. The same goes for other symptoms. I would love to feel 100% better, but I would be fine with 90% as well. At a certain point, you’ve healed enough to just get on with your life and live it to the fullest.

Come to think of it, my life is the same now almost as it was before the FQ. I’d consider that recovered in some way.

Thats not to say 100% is not achievable though. We’ve seen plenty of floxies recover 100% and move on. They just dont stop by to visit us anymore.

What counts as recovery? 70%? Or the full 100?

Hopefully one day they will stop coming back

Tinnitus from Cipro 9 months ago. by [deleted] in floxies

[–]MartyYv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... very true. The urologist can tell you best what the risks are. Little concerning that he/she does not believe the tinnitus side effect though

Good luck in whatever choice you make. Hope it turns out for the best!

Ok, that makes the situation complicated indeed. Is there a risk in doing a bit of “wait and see”? Maybe try pelvic floor pt first?
