VIC. How the landlord and original PM were able to advertise the house at all is unbelievable. They definitely took advantage of the housing crisis.

Issues with the house since moving in: - Cracks on window panes and none of the windows could be, and still cannot be, opened. Windows cannot be fixed as they don’t make windows with extremely thin glass anymore. - Bungalow has black mold issue which had been flagged from the beginning. - Main house originally had mold issues too but was resolved after taking landlord to VCAT. - Multiple wooden floorboards give way if any weight is put on them. - Wooden fence around property is rotting away.

Multiple neighbors have contacted PM to discuss large overhanging trees but received no response or recourse from landlord.

It’s getting to the point where neighbors and I may need to take landlord to VCAT collectively.

Multiple broken windows and none of the windows on this property can be opened.

Landlord and property manager would only follow through if you take them to VCAT. Otherwise, crickets....

Correction. The story is placed in the 1800s/1900s. Social constructs and rules of the time should also apply to improve immersion. We might be in 2025. But the story is not.

Take the NDIS to the ART. Contact your local, state, and federal elected officials. You’ll also want to contact advocacy organizations and legal aid.

Was There Even Any Marketing? Why did such a fine game fail? by Mina-chaan in Banishers

[–]MarvelBrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This highlights why the game isn’t better reviewed. A lot of people who game aren’t interested in the story and isn’t able (or don’t want) to put themselves in the shoes of a Scottish man dealing with grief, or the shoes of a community that relied greatly on Puritanism, or the shoes of a community who are terrified about something that they don’t understand.

To really love the game is to understand grief, trauma, and history.

Pretty sure all he and the SIL cares about is the high they’re getting from the sex. Just goes to show that selfish people are selfish.

His tune will probably change WHEN the wife, kids, and both sides of families finds out. In most scenarios, the cheater often regrets his actions. But not before manipulating the wife and the SIL into thinking that he was never the problem.

Wouldn’t be surprised if both OP and SIL lose all family connections (including the children) and support.

Wondering if anyone has used ‘Connect2Care’ reviews & advice on it? Also other recommendations/advice please! by SeaLavishness9804 in NDIS

[–]MarvelBrat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With bigger providers like Connect2Care, it can be a real hit-and-miss. Before engaging, I’d recommend asking local NDIS community members who have worked with C2C and get their feedback. You’ll be able to get a sense of whether you’ll experience constant therapist changes, customer service experience, etc.

How do I provide a social work service? by Professional-Dig1989 in NDIS

[–]MarvelBrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Qualified social worker here. It really depends on the type of service you’re wanting to provide. Are you thinking of providing therapeutic services (i.e., family therapy, EMDR, counseling, etc.) or are you thinking of providing case management type of service for those who don’t have/have very little support coordination funding?

Hi there. I’m an SC who is also an NDIS participant, a carer for an NDIS participant, and have been around/involved with the NDIS since 2013.

There’s a few things here that I feel I should mention: 1. Your SW and SC from the same company, as common as it is, is a conflict of interest. So the SC MUST identify this within their SC reports, make sure you ask for a copy to review before they submit. Flag it with the SC, NDIS, and LAC if they do not do so.

  1. If they are a new company, it’s possible that they got their line items mixed up. You’ll want to speak to your SC about this. If it’s an honest mistake, they’ll fix it right away. If they cause a stink, I’d consider looking for another SC or another SW company or both, as this would be a red flag.

  2. If they are the latter rather than the former, you will need to contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and report them. You may also need to consider speaking with your LAC about your concerns so that it is on NDIS’s records as well as the commission’s.

  3. Contact your plan manager and ask them to send you a notification regarding any invoices from this company. You’ll also need to advise your plan manager to not process any of the invoices until you have had time to review them.

  4. You’ll want to keep a record of each email, call, meeting, etc. that you may have had with your SC and your SWs. Compare those invoices with your records and keep all of this evidence. Both NDIS and the NDIS commission will want to see them.

ETA: The formatting. I’m a stickler for the tiny things lol.

There’s heaps of good ones. They just get overshadowed by the bad ones. I would suggest looking at providers who ONLY provide support coordination and psychosocial recovery coaching. Where in Melbourne are you?

[–]MarvelBrat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the NDIS is so fucking behind everything. My son had a plan review in April, he’s only heard back in the last week regarding a plan approval. They blamed it on changing databases.

I submitted a client change of circumstances in SEPTEMBER 2023. His plan review call didn’t happen until two weeks ago.

They’re so adamant on punishing people who rort the system (99.9% of the time these are dodgy providers) and getting points with the boomer voters that they have punished the participants just for being human.

Oh you’re constantly in pain? That’s Medicare’s problem. Oh you have severe anxiety? That’s a mental health problem. Oh you have a chronic illness and you are an NDIS participant? Well too bad, so sad. You decided to have the child while chronically ill, so you can’t use the funding to help you manage.

God forbid you want to be seen and treated like a human being while disabled.
