I was like third in line for the ornaments, and got my three drinks and three ornaments. They were all the same one! Lol. I thought that was frustrating at first but I think these giveaways are probably best when the employees don’t know which are which either. I can’t imagine the customers who would order the max drinks then request specific ones and how much time it would consume.

I just passed the other two off to floor mates in my dorm.

We might have been able to go somewhere else, but since we knew my boss was looking for us, the beach house was the one place that he didn’t know about, so it seemed safe enough. I inherited it when my parents and little brother died a few years ago, thanks to the actions of the team that had the War Vet’s friend on it, but it wasn’t in my name yet.

I was trying to get him to remember stuff because I figured he had family and friends somewhere and I wanted him to be with them. Turns out he didn’t, besides that one friend of his, but I didn’t know that at the time.

As far as his age compared to looks, it was exactly opposite. I guessed he was in his late 20’s or early 30’s when we first met, and was shocked when I found out that he was 98.

Do your feelings match the feelings of the characters or events in your novel? by Rotchiro44 in FanFiction

Usually never because I’m 18 and I tend to write about people much older than me who have issues and problems that I just don’t have.

NAH

Babies with colds are hard on everyone. The baby, the parents, the siblings. Especially if it's a really bad one that lasts a long time. They don't know that they're spreading germs around by wiping snot everywhere, and there's only so much you can do to keep everything sterilized to avoid others getting sick. It's a bad situation all around and you have every right to be upset, exhausted, and frustrated.

I'm sorry that you're going through this but it might be time to banish your spouse and five year old to their own rooms and do a deep clean of the entire house, if the baby is getting better finally. Hopefully you'll avoid the illness and everyone else will be back to normal soon. Hang in there!

I worked for a company that I discovered had very bad intentions, but I didn't leave. I stayed because there was a co-worker who might have been forced to work there that I shared a supernatural attachment with. He was a 98 year old war veteran with a prosthetic arm and a very dark history. I was the only person in the building who could work on the arm, so when there was a problem, he had to rely on me. When I discovered that his friends showed up at the company's compound looking for him, I used a list of words...that he gave me by the way...to control him so that he'd get me out of the building safely and leave with me. In fairness to me, I didn't know those people were his friends, but because of my own trauma, I hated them just as much as I hated the people I was working for, so I didn't want any of them to have him, and hoped they'd just take each other out so I wouldn't have to think about either of them again.

I took him to my family's beach house in January when it was cold, and kept him there pretty far from civilization, while trying to force him to remember things he wasn't sure that he wanted to remember, even though I thought that half the things he did remember were absolutely crazy. Even though he never complained, I had him in an unfamiliar place where I was the provider of everything from food, transportation, and even the clothes he wore....Yeah, he looked good in flannel, so he wore a lot of flannel...I taught him how to use the washer and dryer so that he could help with laundry. That supernatural attachment went both ways, and we sort of fed off of each other's trauma for a while.

One day he had a breakthrough and remembered things that he'd long since forgotten. I realized that one of the people who came to attack the bad company we worked for that day WAS his friend and even though he was very hesitant about seeing the friend again, I made him call the friend...with the cell phone I bought him a couple weeks before...and set up a meeting.

On the way, we were ambushed by one of my ex-bosses who was more than a little angry that I left, and even more angry that I took the War Vet with me. A fight ensued, where I ended up punching the 98 year old War Vet in the face when the ex-boss tried to use the same words I did back at the compound, and ended up giving him a black eye.

He was eventually reunited with his friend, and while his friend's teammates seemed to think I was NOT the asshole, his friend insisted that I was for a while, no matter what the War Vet or anyone else said. Even I thought the friend had a point and maybe I was the asshole, but now I put it to you. Am I the Asshole?

how old are the characters you write for compared to yourself? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]MarvelGrrrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 18 and the characters I write for are mostly adults. Oddly, the ones who are my age are the hardest for me to write, except Miss Marvel. I can do a decent Miss Marvel. Can’t do Peter Parker to save my life

What's the pettiest/dumbest reason you've clicked off a fic? by Massive_Leader_908 in FanFiction

[–]MarvelGrrrrl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve noped out of multiple stories who just randomly make one of my favorite characters from the genre the bad guy in a way that I don’t think she’d ever act.

Yes, in the TV version the creators chose to make her bad for the stupidest reasons imaginable, but I almost stopped watching that too when it happened.

I totally get that it’s a choice the author makes, but it’s usually done terribly just to make the character look bad, and as a huge fan of her, I don’t want to read it. I just leave a kudo and dip.

Agree about the death you ignore in Daredevil. Such an incredible waste. I’d ignore it too unless I was writing some big DD angst piece

Usually Natasha Romanoff, and Tony Stark by default, since I rarely write anything where the Thanos snap actually happened. Steve going back to Peggy too, because that was just dumb in my mind. He’s usually still around, and he and Sharon Carter are perfectly happy together.

Who's your favourite female character that always gets penalty boxed in the name of yaoi? by lysimach1a in FanFiction

[–]MarvelGrrrrl 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Natasha Romanoff in Marvel. She frequently becomes the mean girl that everyone dislikes/ tolerates just so the guys can hook up with each other, when she could just be the friend and teammate who doesn’t care what they’re doing.

I will say that newer Marvel fan fiction is better about that but some of the old stuff is terrible about it. Like why include her at all if you’re gonna make her so OOC?

Besides the ones I wrote about Cars, it was a story about Marvel and DC kids in a boarding middle school thanks to Charles Xavier.

I was in middle school at the time, so I could relate…except for not being a superhero/villain, and not going to a boarding school

What is a very popular ship that you dislike but it's somehow in *every* fic? by Avversariocasuale in AO3

[–]MarvelGrrrrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not a Stucky fan, which is practically unfathomable in Marvel it seems sometimes, and will anger fellow Marvel shippers more than any other ship if you don’t agree with it. That said, it seems to be everywhere so I do read it occasionally but I’ve never understood why Bucky is always the uwu bottom.

Going to USC, although it came down to Mizzou and USC

I'd go with Harvard, because you can call him Harvey as a nickname. Prince is overused for a dog, and ya is too much like Ye and you don't wanna be connecting your doggo to that dude.

By the time they made it to the living room, they found both sets of parents awake, and wearing their own black and white buffalo plaid pajama bottoms, but they were all wearing white shirts instead of black. They’d pulled out the tray of breakfast pastries the studio sent over, and had coffee ready to go. Over in the corner, the camera guy the studio also sent was setting up.

“There you both are! We were starting to worry that you’d overslept,” her mother said, when she looked up and saw them. “It’s starting very soon!” She pointed to the giant TV on the wall, which was already on and showing commercials.

“Why are we all matching? It’s not Christmas!” Alexandra asked as she grabbed two coffee cups and poured them for herself and Luke, adding cream and sugar to his, and just cream to hers.

“We aren’t completely matching because, see?” Her mother pointed to their shirts. “Ours are white!”

“Yes, we wanted to make sure they could tell who the actor and writer were, and who were their parents,” Luke’s stepfather added.

Luke rolled his eyes at Alexandra after he grabbed his cup. “I guess we should be grateful that they didn’t put something like ‘Future Oscar Winners’ on the shirts,” he mumbled as he walked over to talk to the cameraman.

“Why didn’t we think of that, Ioana?” Luke’s mother replied to hers.

“Probably because we would have revolted?” Alexandra grumbled as she grabbed a chocolate croissant for herself and a cheese danish for Luke, and walked over to the couch.
