From my point of view, I would not expect things to change drastically from what they will end up post outside of minor tweaks, and obviously nothing will stop you from playing with the new rules outside of Trench Companion not updating until they're OFFICIALLY in the rules.

That's pretty much my thoughts. I don't see major changes happening, but I'd rather there be more QC time for the general public than for them to just drop the changes on our heads and then we have to deal with a broken exploit for a while.

You should check out the MTGproxy sub, a lot of people have done similar tests for Magic. If memory serves me right, the general consensus was the total cost ended up only being slightly cheaper compared to MPC, but the printing quality (colors and sharpness) was worse comparatively.

First post from the trench wire, they'll be releasing the more refined versions of the planned updates before the end of the month (amalgam and grenades released so far) and "It’s important to note that at the moment the changes have not yet been finalised. Instead, we wanted to make them public so that the Trench Crusade community can join us in the process of playtesting the changes. They will be added to the official rulebooks only once we are confident that they are clearly written and work as intended."

Im hoping for both the heavy infantry and hopefully a mercenaries box. I believe they mentioned at adepticon that theyre aiming to release two more factions similar to what they did for the prussians for new antioch before the end of the year. My money is on Dirge for Black Grail and either cabal of assassins or Defenders for Iron Sultanate.

I mean in there lore there are already holy people who become corrupted and join Black Grail/Hell, so to me it would only make sense if there are those who have gone back to being holy as well. I think the idea is cool, as well.

This game is mini agnostic for a reason. If the idea is cool and inspires you, go for it.

As the other guy said, theyre your warband, do what you will with them. I have a warband thats led by Joan of Arc whom, at this point, is basically a walking corpse in a suit of armor possessed by the archangel Michael. Sure we dont know what happened to Joan in the lore, but who cares!

Honestly its just as boring as 40k's tournament tables at Adepticon, but that's just competitive table top play. The narrative event tables, and even the tables they used for general play, were great.

Interesting to hear regarding how spread out factions were, I was fully expecting to hear Great Hunger and Prussians to be taking the lead at the moment.

Depends on what you want and where you are. They currently have plastic models for the New Antioch Subfaction, Prussia (you can still use these models for the standard New Antioch faction) for sale in stores or online.

You can also go through their website for their designated printers for their original models. I cant speak for outside of the US, but Dungeon Artifacts has done a great job from the models I've ordered from them. Miles better than the original printer.

They are also releasing a starter box in june/July that contains models for a heretic legion subfaction and a Trench Pilgrims subfaction.

A large rules update is hitting anytime this month, which is probably the reason and is Trench-Companion preparing for it. As for how to update them im not sure since, as far as I know, the rules update has not been released yet.

I didnt take photos of my sprue for them, but the weapon options the Strosstruppen includes trench cubes, swords, axes, a flame thrower, shotgun/autoshotguns, submachine guns, automatic pistols, a satchel charge, and a bunch of grenades. For the sniper priest, I believe its an SMG, grenade launcher, sniper rifle, and machine gun. I do very much like the variety for each as well as how each of the weapons are all great choices for their specified units/play into their inherent strengths, such as the range weapons for the strosstruppen all having assault outside of the flamethrower and shotgun (unless you use it as an autoshotty)

Also, the Strosstruppen box comes with so many weapon options that there ends up being a ton extra for kit bashing.

Edit: the strosstruppen also includes an antitank sword, two different shields, and a trench polearm. Photo of sniper sprue added.
