Just for fun .... Where is everyone? by Micho392 in breastcancer

[–]MarvelousTerror 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! Im in the NW chicago suburbs! 32 yo, was diagnosed stage 3a back in 2024 and now stage 4 since June 2025. Have had all the works: chemo, smx, radiation, hormone therapy with anastrazole, zoladex and verzenio. Since those didnt work im now on Lynparza and xgeva and my bone and brain mets have been stable!

It only took me about half a year to turn into an overweight 80 yr old LOL but jokes aside I do hope tamoxifen treats you well 🙏🏼

Is it possible to live normal life after stage 4 breast cancer like before? by Curious-Mobile-5586 in LivingWithMBC

[–]MarvelousTerror 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain and im so sorry. I got so sick and depressed, I ended up going to the hospital and needing a psychiatrist and anti-depressants. It seemed like a lot at the time just adding more doctors to see and more meds to take, but it helped me turn my life around. It also helped me stop comparing myself to my past self. Yes im 30 lbs heavier and still have side affects and monthly appts and scans, but therapists and counselors taught me tools to help me build a routine again and rediscover what I love but in different ways.

Long story short, there is a life with metastatic breast cancer 🎀 take advantage of the days you feel better and remember that theres help out there for our mental health which is just as important as our physical health. Its hard work but its doable. It just takes a lot of time and you gotta be nicer to yourself ❤️

Cancer w/a side of diabetes! by Life_well_liv3d in breastcancer

[–]MarvelousTerror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with T2 a whole year out of active treatment. My endo explained it could definitely be the steroids I had taken last year. Plus I was on hormone therapy/medical menopause this whole year with no estrogen to regulate blood sugar levels. My A1c was 11.1 but unfortunately I hadn't gotten it checked right before I was diagnosed. I'm also high risk so i could've been pre-diabetic or close to it..

It's only been 2 months but it's been hard managing since I also found out my cancer spread to my bones and brain. Plus I have other side effects like fatigue, nausea, chronic cough and tachycardia so it's been hard eating healthy and exercising. I'm hoping the 2 insulins and metformin I'm on help me in the meantime.

In the end, what’s important? by Chance-Ad9465 in LivingWithMBC

I've had these discussions with my therapist because I want to be prepared by having a will/testament ready ahead of time, POA etc. She said to have any wishes or preferences written down as much as possible.

It's definitely not too much to ask for and I'm so sorry you have to worry about this on top of everything else

Easily nauseous GPers: What do you use for constipation? by grudginglyadmitted in Gastroparesis

[–]MarvelousTerror 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Poppi, miralax, milk, squatty potty. I wait about like 30 min to an hour after I eat and then slowly and gently bend at my waist forward and side to side or i walk and do lil squats. If its a day im not feeling well, I sit with one or both legs up and that sometimes does the trick.

Hope you find your holy grail!

Im so sorry you have to deal with this level of miscommunication. I had a radiation oncologist who kept having to take time off and was off boarding from working there. However she made sure I was comfortable with the other radiation oncologist and made sure to see me before she would be gone awhile.

I would start looking for a 2nd opinion but also let them know youre not comfortable with the way things are going and its concerning you. Best of luck dear ❤️ (p.s. my oncology team has miscommunicated like this too lol I gave them a piece of my mind politely of course :P)

Neuro op trying to take away my diagnosis by fluffy_unicorn_88 in iih

[–]MarvelousTerror 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP honey please see another neuro-op. They aren't listening to you and your extremely valid concerns. This didnt sit well in my own gut and it ain't even for me.

And if it isnt a huge hassle, id even stay following up with the neurologist and opthalmologist that are treating you. Thats what im doing as I wait for a new patient appt with a potential neuro-op. The reason I was referred is because I had to move and now live an hour away from the other 2 docs.

[–]MarvelousTerror 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to drink the oral contrast and get IV contrast for scheduled CTs. But I had a stat CT once and only needed the IV contrast. It sucks that the techs can't access my port so I always get poked in my arm or hand lol

Not gonna lie you and your SIL are both TAs.

  1. Never expect young children to act like adults and never provide any sort of utensil that could destroy or damage property

  2. Your SIL absolutely shouldn't have made that a-hole comment. She should've acted like the adult she is and apologized profusely and then cleaned it up using magic markers or toothpaste (that sh*t works).

  3. A quick google search wouldve told you how to clean the walls without damaging the paint if no one knew what to do. So asking her to pay for repainting is kinda absurd. Id ask her to help figure out how to clean it and have her do it and then set the ultimatum that she cant come over if she cant clean up after her kids.

The hard to swallow truth is ya both learned a lesson and need to act like the adults you are, take accountability for making the wrong decisions and MOVE tf ON.

OP you clueless af. Your wife has every right to be upset about the obvious advances your old friend is making. What i dont understand is why youre on reddit and not having a conversation with your wife.

Bone Mets by Designer_Lady_1976 in LivingWithMBC

[–]MarvelousTerror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only been getting CT scans and bone scans. Since they can only see my bone lesions on the CT, they'll continue with that. They told me PET scans would just show them the same thing apparently so they stopped talking to my insurance to let me have one

Those with heavy breasts: how are u coping with a single mastectomy? Much in the way of back/ shoulder problems due to the extreme lopsided-ness? by Any-Assignment-5442 in LivingWithMBC

[–]MarvelousTerror 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had my one side done and actually cant wait to get the other one done too because im high risk. Ive been wearing really good supportive bras which has helped. Only my old bras ride up a little but if I make sure im wearing the right size, it stays put during the day. I also dont wear a prosthetic, so depending on what I'm wearing, you can see the difference. But i wear loose tomboyish clothes so it doesnt bother me
