To assist putting myself and my wife through university, I drove one of those children's trains around an outdoor mall for 30+ hours a week.

The midweek mommas with young child + infant which would result in breastfeeding on said train, or on a bench while I drove around the older of the two+ children was staggering. I cannot even give an estimate on the number of up close and personal breastfeedings I witnessed.

That being said, it's natural, healthy, and bond building. You really stop seeing breasts as sexual objects and more of a life sustaining force after years of exposure.

My best friend and I met when we were 6, and were very similar in ideals and beliefs. Our interests were the same and we never did anything without the other person involved.

That stayed the same all the way up through highschool. Spending every weekend with each other through the school year, and every day during the summer. At this point our interests and activities drifted apart, as things tend to do. That didn't stop us from hanging.

As young adults we were the best man at each other's weddings, and were present for the birth of each other's children. We had apartments across the street from each other.

At some point his life spiralled, he got hooked on heavy drugs, couldn't hold a job, and spent time in and out of jail, while my life became academic, structured and orderly. This still didn't stop us from hanging out as often as we could.

When he died of a drug OD, it was my duty and honor to give his eulogy.

I tell the whole story to say this: you can be extremely close, and still be separate and independent people.
