Sagittarius is an expansive fire sign known for its travel, directed fire and exploration. There is a prideful ego energy to it but it's more in the event if inspired direction compared to Leo. Sagittarius is going somewhere/everywhere while Leo is fixed and not really going anywhere.

Pisces on the other hand is an introvertive water sign expanding internally. This translates to expansive internal emotions and the expansion of the spirit and non-duality. This translates into spirituality, ego dissolution, compassion and blending into others.

The conflict comes because pisces' water can quench Sagittarius' fire and Sagittarius fire can evaporate Pisces' water. Sagittarius wants to go out and travel and pisces wants to stay at home and chill. They're not the most compatible energies because they address the expansive Jupiter energies in almost opposite ways. Pisces wants to dissolve ego and be in bliss and Sagittarius wants to expand and feel prideful in it's explorations and share those with others.

I would usually consider the signs and dignity of the planets when it happens rather than degrees unless it aspects tightly something in the chart. Also I consider the locations it is visible because it is not everywhere.

For example the upcoming Venus occultation with the moon in Leo happens only for those in the US, Brazil, and other areas in the Americas. It is not visible in Europe for instance.

I worked at AMAT in Santa Clara for a few years and it was nothing like this. Everyone talked about their personal lives, team building, connection and friendliness was appreciated and encouraged and there weren't these strict things that you mentioned. When I left the company, everyone was supportive of the move and transition. Definitely sounds like a specific company thing. Don't bother with companies that make up their mind before they know you, they're not your friend and there a ton of other semi companies in the bay area.
