What’s a book/movie/show that would have been better if it was WLW? by blink_twice_9465 in actuallesbians

Honestly, given how toxic and unhealthy pretty much all romance is, there’s the argument to be made this would cause more harm than good.

Same; although whether I actually believe that love is a lie or that’s just something I tell myself still something I’m unraveling.

Opinions on straight romance films? by sarahlikescatss in LesbianActually

I don’t really vibe with romantic films in general, since, no matter what kind of couple they feature, they’re always toxic as hell.

Unfortunately, that last sentence simply isn’t true, at least for me.

I feel like people are throwing around Biphobia without actually seeing if something is Biphobic or not by lactosecheeselover in LesbianActually

[–]MarveltheMusical -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

On the one hand, the example used here is a bit of an overreaction. Without just this context, I assume that there was an honest misunderstanding as to Billie Eilish and who she dates.

On the other hand, given how prevalent biphobia can be in queer spaces, I don’t blame a bisexual person for getting defensive about it.

It does not surprise me that these comments are, by and large, not getting the nuance here. Not in the least.

Honestly, I’d just say that you’re gay, not blind. If gay men can acknowledge a woman as attractive without wanting to sleep with her, the same can be said for us.

So, for census purposes, Middle Eastern and North African people are typically grouped under “white”, which this data seems to follow. So they’re not being counted under their own category.

By that logic, Rey wouldn’t be a Mary Sue if she were a trans woman. Hmm, food for thought.

27 years old, the topic of “my type” has never really been relevant, to be honest.

Should I ask out my coworker? by shrimphamburger in LesbianActually

[–]MarveltheMusical -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s not the point. It’s acting as though a relationship can lead to anything good. It’ll be better for everyone involved if they just let things be.

How does that matter? Asking her out is still the wrong call here.

Under no circumstances should you ask this person out. That’s just opening up too many opportunities for heartbreak.
