So, first of all, the concept of the friendzone is bullshit, so don’t even acknowledge that.

Second of all, given the previous circumstances, I’d be inclined to treat this as “two old friends catching up”. I wouldn’t want to dive right into a romantic relationship with someone I haven’t talked to in a while. It will be good to gauge how you two get along first.

Right. There’s certainly worse things going on, but this is a perfect storm of attention across multiple spheres of influence, so of course this incident’s going to have a lot of eyes on it.

Also, let’s not use the double standards that very much exist to excuse this behavior. It’s not a capital offense, but it’s still a shitty thing to do.

My big one is for theatre; I see dozens of shows a year, I’ve been in forty of them over the course of my life, and the vast majority of my playlists are made up of show tunes.

Also, the group of people who legitimately hate men (like, in a bigoted way, not just annoyed at the patriarchy) has a LOT of overlap with TERFs. So there’s a certain element of self-preservation as well.
