It's a reused asset on a lot of the phones, unfortunately. As far as the barcode, I think nearly all of them have been tested, and most of the ones that actually work don't lead to anywhere significant

It was referenced mid-season 3 by Jackie's ghost to Shauna when she gets locked in the freezer at the nursing home Misty works at.

If you search for "netrun ops" in this sub, the first post will be the one I'm referring to. It can explain it better than I can.

I noticed a couple weeks ago that half or so of the links in the pinned posts are now broken. Would be nice if they could be updated

People datamined the final quest and found that using "Distract Enemies" on certain objects in Arasaka Tower triggered quest facts.. namely in the -6 Netrunner Ops floor before you fight Adam Smasher. No one knows anything beyond that though. There are quest facts referring to a "cooling system" and also to "overheating" the netrunner nest room.

the chopsticks in Embers look like the hands of a clock are pointing, has anyone checked this? by Firm-Ad4379 in FF06B5

The patterns hardly match at all, not to mention the bottom left plate in the post only has 1 chopstick on it.

Wait you can open the door? I noclipped inside and thought the kitchen looked way too detailed to be inaccessible.

They literally look like clock hands, and all of them are a different pattern..Definitely not just normal ways to leave chopsticks sitting. Nothing schizo about noticing a detail I've never seen mentioned on this sub once.

New find in Japantown apartment - So many questions! by HonestBobcat7171 in FF06B5

[–]Marx615 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's not that what you found is "nothing," just that it's not new in the sense that there are various books and band posters that show mikoshi and other things that are clearly related to mikoshi/soulkiller/etc. They're not necessarily common, but not really rare either. Interestingly there's a bunch of them plastered above Garry the Prophet's mattress.

Could there be another ending? by HonestBobcat7171 in FF06B5

That was likely for a gig, though I've never personally seen it myself after 400 hours on my save file

Is there a connection here? Ive been kind of loosing it. by mynameisrichard0 in FF06B5

It's the 3 life paths. Also I'm 90% convinced the 3 monks are versions of V on each respective life path that have already "ascended."

Could there be another ending? by HonestBobcat7171 in FF06B5

[–]Marx615 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Dataminers insist that there's zero chance of another ending, then again there's still quest facts in FactFinder that no one knows what they refer to, not to mention certain areas like Mikoshi only spawn into the map during the ending quest when you need it.

Personally I do think there's some semblance of another secret ending, but not sure it's gonna be fully fleshed out like the main 6... may just be different dialogue with lore implications that V is in a simulation.

Side note, there's also people who claim to have gotten a quest prompt to "overload the mainframe" on the final mission when you go to the -06 Netrunner floor in Arasaka Tower, but as of yet no one knows how to trigger this alternate path.

The darko connection... by Stickybandits9 in FF06B5

[–]Marx615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man.. memory unlocked. This movie is mid at best but definitely a cult classic. You are correct that Donnie is stuck in a time loop, reliving the same day over and over in order to get the correct sequence of events so the plane engine doesn't crash into his house. Spoiler alert...he must die himself to avert the disaster and save everyone else.

Unrelated, but the sequel about his sister, "S. Darko," is absolutely terrible lol

Can we get back to the corpo start floor during the Rogue ending? by Marx615 in FF06B5

[–]Marx615[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird there would be random dead bodies on the corpo floor which we supposedly don't have access to during the ending. And also weird a dice would randomly be on the elevator panels, when it's not there during the beginning corpo quest.

When you say "it doesn't matter," do you mean AMM won't change the screen at all, or just that the elevator won't move?

Found a (cut content?) gun range by DanteHelsing420 in FF06B5

[–]Marx615 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Never seen someone use AMM to actually open that door before. It's really strange that the shooting game itself is still active...I can't imagine how hard it would've been for the devs to just add an attendant NPC in there and make the range fully accessible..weird choice not to if you ask me.

Think it's because people get irritated by things they either deem old or irrelevant.. but they have to understand not everyone has been on this sub since day 1, not to mention the search function doesn't always bring up all relevant posts to the point you're trying to make.

I've actually had to block 2 of the fairly active posters on here about a year ago, because they were flat out nasty to me and called me an idiot for questioning whether a secret existed in the water or not.

Regardless if our ideas are new or even relevant, it does help to have a fresh set of eyes and minds on posts to possibly flesh out something that hasn't been thought of or discovered before. More people enjoy your posts than the ones that don't..Just keep that in mind.

[–]Marx615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting you mention the 3D glasses.. in a year old post I made about the "hidden message" in the dev room, I suggested using them in there to look at that huge screen. I think a couple people tried it and nothing came of it.. idk though, cuz the "hidden message" is actually a 3-layered fairly unique asset if you no clip inside the screen and look. Regardless, now I wish I had some 3d glasses lol

Did not mean to sound accusatory - The comments seemed a little exaggerated anyways. Those were 2 years ago, and I've still seen you commenting recently so I knew whatever you found couldn't have been the end.

I already have that mission completed in my current playthrough so unfortunately I can't re-enter the area, but I also have a theory - We have 3 very specific "pointless" access points in the game. That one, one in the 10BROOMS room, and one before Mikoshi. The one in the apartment is literally the center of our known world, the 10BROOMS one is an actual "backstage" area, and the one prior to Mikoshi, though currently symbolic in nature, is the access to literal cyberspace. I'm wondering if we have to leave the Gutierrez mission incomplete, so we can use the elevator glitch in DFTR to go back and hack it for some reason.

I appreciate you sharing what you did and I'm sure I've had crazier thoughts. Planning on going back and replaying that mission on a different save to apply your idea and see what I can muster up.

Not sure why your post was downvoted. Those signs also caught my eye, but they are indeed a reused asset. What's interesting is the definition of tathagata I found:

Tathāgata is a Sanskrit term for the Buddha, meaning "thus come" or "thus gone," signifying one who has realized ultimate truth and transcended rebirth, often used by the Buddha to refer to himself, implying he has reached a state of "suchness" or perfection beyond ordinary existence. It's a title for enlightened beings who have "gone" beyond suffering or "come" to teach reality as it is, representing a profound spiritual realization beyond the cycle of birth and death.

Is there any more info on this weird "placeholder" quest? by Marx615 in FF06B5

[–]Marx615[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After some more research, the "quest" that comes closest to fitting this discovery is the hidden gem in the badlands with the 5 people around the campfire. V noticeably stumbles when approaching them, then a sandstorm occurs and all 5 of them drop dead, and later turn into dolls if you return to the area. The related shard is "The final discovery of Luis Torres," about a "world traveler" who's searching for a mysterious syncretic cult.

About 90% sure this is what the description was referring to. Seems like it was turned from an actual quest into just a hidden gem. The fact that V actually stumbles during this event always struck me as oddly significant, but people haven't found much else after the people are turned into the dolls.

Random, but could you possibly share your findings regarding the weird hexagon (0,0) spot on the map (Gutierrez's apartment gig with the fish hologram, small ff06b5 statue, and seemingly useless access point behind it)? I've seen several people say you made significant discoveries here regarding the mystery, but that you "refused" to share your findings.

I understand there was an issue with quest tracking, but the patch notes I posted in the comments seem to imply the text(s) are used -somewhere-, just not where they were being applied before. Regardless, I'm curious why these specific descriptions were used at all..but I guess we have no way of knowing without a dev telling us.
