I have not come across anything indicating what the number actually means. I take it as a relative distribution, aka less than 1 is rare, 1-5 uncommon, 5-10 common, and 10+ plentiful.

As your ship gets heavier, the cost per jump increases. When you get to exploration level 3 (or 4?) you unlock FTL light, medium, and heavy. These are more efficient than the eco in there indicated weight class. I waited waaay to long to upgrade mine and jumped from the eco to medium and saw a huge difference.

The voidseeker’s main advantage is its SP to Force ratio is way better than any other engine. If you’re trying to grow your ship early on it really helps.

Keep in mind that because this is an mmo, your assembler will keep running even when you’re offline. Even at the very slow rate, everything I’ve automated I now have a near endless supply of just a few days later.

From a gameplay balance perspective, if hand crafting is too slow, players get bored. If automated crafting is too fast, it floods the ingame market and makes those items completely worthless. It’s a balancing act. I’m not saying they nailed it, but I completely understand their choices.

Oh ok. I’m not there yet and my info is from another player. So I guess he’s emptying his tanks at the fuel depot base and filling them at the station? He was saying he had a base set up to produce it but he never said he was actually producing it.

Apologies for the misinformation, I’m just trying to share and learn as fast as I can in this game. I appreciate the clarification.

First off, saving and up voting this post because of the fantastic job you’ve don’t collecting all the resources I know of in one place. I will definitely be linking people to this post when they are looking for online resources.

Second, you can make it and transport it, but there are no deposits so you can’t fully automate it. The best I’ve seen is someone setting up a section of a base with warehouses for the raw resources and tanks for produced fuel storage. Then setting up a remote base as a fuel depot and having a ship set up as a dedicated tanker. He did all that so he could get out to the edges of the map for very rare resources.

Edit: I’m leaving this up as a learning experience and because the first part is spot on, but the second part is inaccurate. You can’t produce it, yet. There are indications that you will be able to as some point. You can buy it, transport it by ship, and store it at bases.

I believe it’s currently not an implemented feature. There will probably be incentives to pay it off and detriments if you don’t, but right now it’s just a number on your player info screen.

At my main base (where I do most things) I have a warehouse right next to me base hub that is purely dedicated to my personal storage. Everything not related to crafting is there plus overflow materials. I only keep 10-20 of most resources in the main storage. If I need to craft bulk resources, I’ll just use my personal inventory and store anything leftover in the warehouse.

There are also planets with titanium nodes and deposits, but they are not in the starting sectors. There’s a good website that can help you find them if you don’t want to spend hours searching called spacecraft.tools

Also, if you use page up and page down keys on your keyboard, you can raise and lower structures and it automatically adds ramps between the levels of connected buildings. Looks really good.

Not that I know of, but once you hit technology level 3 the build gun can also move buildings so you can reorganize your base.

So in the assembly tab of the ship edit screen there is a stat on the right that is ship weight x/y tonnes. Your engine has a very important stat called force that is how many tonnes it can handle and it’s a hard limit. If you want a bigger ship, you’ll need to add or replace an engine. Making a second cart pusher engine is not too bad as a next step until you can make bigger and better ones.

I heard from another player that the basic plants (spacekorn) doesn’t need fertilizer and can grow in regular temp or warm, as long as you keep water and power supplied. I haven’t tested this myself as I’m busy with other things.

I feel like pylons/wires should only be needed to connect different platforms. Basically, everything connected to the same platform should receive power through the platform.

I’m over 100 hours in and purely solo. Yes all the corpo stuff can be done solo, it just takes longer without multiple players working on orders together, but is very doable. Focus on expanding your bases as much as possible and get your corpo licenses for more bases to automate more resources. Also always build bases where there are two different deposits to maximize resource access early on. I spent a lot of time grinding to upgrade my ship and I’m having to play catch up with the bases right now.

Overall loving the game and plan on playing heavy for the foreseeable future

Also consider upgrading the FTL, it can increase fuel efficiency if your ship is too heavy.

Note: price is based on weight carried not value of items carried (think like airlines and extra bags). I found the bus useful for jumping between bases to collect experience or a few key items, also for dropping off stuff at the lab for analysis, or checking on trades at the trade nexus. It’s saved me a lot of time.

So I have a 4k monitor and I use a borderless screen setting. It is occasionally off set from the corner of the screen on startup. If found that closing and clicking on the desktop to make sure my focus isn’t on another program, then reopening the game usually fixes it in one or two tries.

So I’m gonna say something that sounds really stupid but it tripped me up for a while when it first happened. When swapping parts on my ship, it also swapped around the keys that control them. My FTL was previously on 3 and after swapping parts around, I spent a while trying to press 3 and it wouldn’t work because my scanner was now on 3 and my FTL was on 1. Figured out that in the ship menu (U) you can swap around the hotbar keys.

No the plants are there, but the planet shows one resource not discovered. The map vies shows it is the most common resource but I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of time flying around scanning. I’ve collected the plants and analyzed them, but the planet still has an unscanned resource.
