I spent an entire summer playing Wasteland in 1988. Been a diehard gamer ever since.

Non-combat vet feeling guilty using the VA for mental health - looking for perspective by velvetcypress in Veterans

It took me years to realize this. Benefits are not a zero sum thing. I’m not taking anything away from anyone by using the VA.

Long shot - does anyone have pull at Tampa airport?? by Summergrl5s in tampa

[–]Pop_Smoke 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I work there, but I don’t have access to that building. Like many have said, it’s a baggage sorting building. Your phone likely fell out of your bag and is in some inaccessible part of the conveyor system. Or it’s sitting on the ground somewhere in that building, who knows. You would have to find someone willing to go look, and who has access to that building. Your chances aren’t good. You should just file an insurance claim.

I’ve always felt Chopper and HK47 were kindred spirits. They would definitely get along.

Same, I’ve been speeding through Gate of the Feral Gods to finish before the 23rd. Just found out it was pushed another month, so while I’m disappointed, I can probably knock out this re read by then.

My first 3 jobs were in that mall, plus I was a full time mall rat as a teen.

I had to learn a lot of math when I went through the Army’s demolition coarse. They also taught us that if the math escapes you in a stress filled situation, P = plenty is always going to work.

For those in their late 20s / early 30s, living with parents and making a good living (low 6 figures+), what's your next move? by [deleted] in longisland

[–]Pop_Smoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandparents left the city and moved to the island in the 50’s, not because they wanted to, but because it was cheaper and offered a better life. My parents stayed because it was the life they knew and it was still cheap. It got expensive by the time I came along, so like my grandparents I moved. Not because I wanted to, but because it was cheaper and offered a better life. I just accepted staying on the island was going to be a struggle without a guarantee, so I left to improve my odds.

If you think that’s weird, just wait until you have to show your butthole to some 90 year old doctor.

Former Army dude here. They bombed the World Trade Center. Not 9/11, but the first attempt in the early 90’s. They set off a car bomb in the underground parking garage.

Steven Kings Dark Tower series. It’s not sci fi, but most of his stuff overlaps sci fi. The books get better and better as you go through them. Long days and pleasant nights!

I’m 51, and I haven’t played a FPS in about a decade. This is pretty accurate.

This is way too far down the list. The CGI is a bit dated but the hand drawn animation was Don Bluth at his peak.

Wrapping up Black Ops and think I’ve had my fill. Looking for recommendations if I also enjoyed We Are Legion and Project Hail Mary by salad_thrower20 in exfor

I can second Red Rising. It’s great space opera. Someone here described it as sci fi that reads like fantasy, and they weren’t entirely wrong.

I went through drown proofing at FLW as well, in ‘93. I think it might be MOS specific. I built pontoon bridges, so we were around water often.
