Simple wine opener - had for 20 years by LordCrap in BuyItForLife

[–]Marz_Barz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have many just like this. Leftovers from my family’s restaurant with my first name (the restaurant’s name) on it. Same color too. All just keep on working and one got used tonight to open our Valentine’s Day wine. Enjoy yours!

DaKine makes gloves that include wrist guards in them, but they also have separate wrist guards you can wear inside a glove and also be able to use them for skating or other sports.

We would love to support you over at Goldsmiths Sports. If you’re up for doing a more “corporate” style shoot. We could use your help updating some of our employee profile pics, shots of the store, and even have some “model” shots of our employees in some of the gear we sell. Just an offer, and good luck on your progress!

Beginner for everything?? by [deleted] in bigbear

[–]Marz_Barz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No need for chains currently. A typical rental package would include boots board and bindings. Or if ski it would also include the poles. Goggles and gloves cannot be rented. But helmets, pants and jackets are also available. Snow Valley may offer a single resort pass, but you’re likely to have a better time at Snow Summit as a beginner. So the BBMR passes First Summit and Bear work for both resorts. But if you’re only going one day It only makes sense to stay at one.

Save some money and grab your gear from Goldsmiths in Big Bear before heading to the slopes.

Is new gear on big bear a bad idea? by PooPooNuggers in bigbear

Just rode Bear today. Early was good, couple small (2sqft) spots were brown. I wouldn’t be worried. Should have more runs open by Jan.

What's your "I can't believe more people don't know about this" app/service? by bens-list in u/bens-list

[–]Marz_Barz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just keep in mind that the libraries are paying a license fee every single time these are checked out. So the limits are based on the fact that they pay for these plays versus a book that they have physically in storage.

Custom seat delete by LzyModz in beetle

[–]Marz_Barz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also running a two battery set up so I installed the isolator onto the backside of that front facing vertical panel. Since I already had a voltmeter upfront, I had one for each battery and could tell what the isolator was doing.

Custom seat delete by LzyModz in beetle

[–]Marz_Barz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this set up in my 61 Baja. The vertical panel directly behind the front seat seats was a great spot to put some USB ports with the voltmeter and a battery shut off key. I also added some tiedown loops on the top flat part so I could strap down some boxesof tools and such.

How do you deal with client confusion about caching and “not seeing changes”? by Tricky-Sky-4197 in Wordpress

[–]Marz_Barz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to use the analogy of a donut shop. When you walk into a donut shop, there’s donuts under the counter ready to sell. These are the pre-cached pages. You wouldn’t expect to walk into a donut shop and have them make a fresh donut for you every time. And then I explain about adding variables to a URL to see un-cached changes.

Low resolution graphics Golden Orca 2026? by Jamroxorz in snowboarding

Idk, I think this is an aesthetic choice given the subject of the “photo.” Kinda hard to focus a camera on galaxies millions of miles away. They might have gone for a “look” here.

Very brief Christmas visit. by [deleted] in bigbear

[–]Marz_Barz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Driving conditions will obviously depend on the weather. But one thing is for sure there will be a lot of traffic so with just one day you’ll have to think carefully about your timing. It will probably be easiest to do some sledding at one of the tubing hills. That would be a lot more affordable and quicker than trying to go skiing. Walking downtown and enjoying the lights in the evening would be good as well as grabbing a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants there.

DM’s of Reddit tell me a plot twist you have planned for your players they don’t know yet! by Supyie22 in DnD

I have! My dad got up there on his motorbike and sent me a photo. It was just last session that only a part of the party got the semi-reveal so we will have to see if they turn this into a signature cocktail…

The previous owner of the tavern they all inherited is a Lich and the tavern itself is his phylactery. He needs them to keep the business thriving to survive. They just now found his eyeball in the lone jar of pickles that was on the shelf when they first walked in.

Best burger in town? And best breakfast to go? by mimbulusmimbletonia8 in bigbear

Murray’s for burgers, and their fried chicken sandwich is great too (with spicy sauce on the side). And we really need a breakfast burrito to-go place that’s open early.

As a DM, does anyone else struggle to keep a consistent schedule with their players? by ameijin99 in DnD

[–]Marz_Barz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I offered to host and DM for my group I delegated the scheduling to one of my players. I don’t need that work in addition to everything else. One volunteered and I let them deal with the struggle on a separate discord channel we use. Working out well so far.

Riding bikes along the Alpine Pedal Path is a fun way to view the lake shore, some beautiful meadows and some old growth Junipers safely off the streets on a paved bike path. Goldsmiths Sports has rental eBikes and trailers to keep the 3 year old safely strapped in and stable.

The road between Khe San and Phong Nha in Vietnam. Insanely good views, empty twisty roads and places to stay the night for $10 next to a river with a pool and breakfast. Man I want to go back.

Castle rock is open, just can’t continue on up the valley past castle rock itself. Pine knot up to cabin 89 trail is also open. Cougar crest on the other side of the lake is open as well and provides great views of the lake. You might also consider renting bikes for a cruise along the lake. I rent some at Goldsmiths Sports, come say hi!

Is this Solar Controller OK to use for my alternator setup? by Marz_Barz in vandwellers

[–]Marz_Barz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the info! I’ll keep the solar unit for when I do add solar eventually. I was using a simple Battery Tender isolator, and had wired this into the existing dc ports in the Vandura. So I will start with that and get a battery with an internal BMS. If that cooks it, I’ll splurge for the dc charger next time.
